Bot-Using Accounts Banned - Indoflaven on 12/7/04

We have recently verified that certain individuals were using third party "bot" programs to automate their characters in World of Warcraft. A bot is used to play an account non-stop, allowing its user to accumulate money, items, and experience without actually requiring the user to be physically present to play the game. The use of bots is a violation of the World of Warcraft Terms of Use and is absolutely prohibited. Therefore, the accounts identified as having used bots have been banned.
Blizzard Entertainment is committed to maintaining an environment of fair play in World of Warcraft. As stated previously, the company has a zero-tolerance policy for cheating or hacking of any kind. Players caught using a bot program to automate any of their characters' actions will have their characters removed and their account banned. They will not receive a warning. Over 300 accounts have already been banned for offenses of this nature.

I found out the hard way that people are !@#$%^&*. I got reported for harassment for ONE tell to a guy who apparently didn't want it.

You people should usually use the bot only in an area you are positive that people will not roam around in. If you look @ what blizzard says, they said they "cannot" find out about hackers unless they are reported. Although they maybe just saying that....

Be aware that you must get confirmation that I am correct....

or make the program log you off in a couple of hours instead of when you wake up the next morning.

what if you use a bot while you sit at the computer and read a book? If a gm appears cant you just say hello and let them know you are actually there and not afk? (yes sorry I am a newb)

yeah you can do that, but most people who bot are away from their house.

On the Durotan server my cousin was always going to Booty Bay?(Where the ship is.) I was watching him play one night and we noticed their is always a guy their fishing. He is always at the same spot on the pier. Everynight for a week and a half he was their and we played 5-6 hours at a time on his account. I think bots are everywhere if you pay attention. On another note what is the big deal with macros? If it was such a problem with blizzard why dont they force a patch to disable them?

in theory check chat colour to see if you have been sent a pm, if you have then keypress /r no english speak

not perfect (ie. doesn't check if someone /s something to you but at the same time you dont want to say you dont speak english every time someone talks to someone else.

I havent been banned yet I make around 200g a day
