Is AOE mean the same in KO? (Area of Effect)

In EQ, we called it 'AE'. We omit the 'o' in Area of Effect.

In WoW, AE can mean Area of Effect, or Arcane Explosion.

In WoW, no one ever says PBAoE (Point Blank AoE) when refering to things like Hellfire and Arcane Explosion.

In WoW it's safe to assume when someone says 'AoE' or 'AE', they mean cast a spell that hitsmultiple targets at once.

in DAOC there was PBAoE
