Are you getting the idea that "Warcrack" (as some call it) eats up a lot of time? "Of all the games that my [addictive] clients are involved with, World of Warcraft is the most popular," says clinical psychologist Kimberly Young. Mostly, trouble comes in the form of kids who fall asleep in class, and furious spouses. "My girlfriend—who actually bought me the game—was ready to kill me," says Alex Rascovar (Level 60, Gnome Mage), a New York City actor who often binged with eight-hour sessions before he went cold turkey a few months ago. There are parental controls available, but most parents haven't a clue. (Only when embarking on this story did yours truly learn that his son [Level 60, Troll Shaman] had hit the level cap in WOW.)

I guess it really depends on how your brain is "wired". To some people, wow is really not that addictive, and to others its a way of life. There is a lot of controversy over if games are addictive or not, I personally think most of it is just bullcrap. The best argument ive ever heard is that when playing video games, some people's brains will release endorphins, much like how a runner experiences a "runners high", giving them a natural high (that you cant OD on) that feels good. Some people will get hooked, not unlike a drug addict, to the endorphins and in turn play the game because it makes them feel good and lets them forget about their troubles. So, really its not the game their addicted to, its the endorphins. The game is just merely a drug dealer. After so much playing, the endorphins stop getting released and the brain says "f this" and you dont feel like playing anymore and move onto the next game. I cant recall where I read the article but it was well written and convincing. And, of course, this doesnt cover all situations, but some. This can also apply to other activities.

Games I say arnt addictive but a Escape for people to exsperience well a rush.

Let for instance PVP when your running around aimlesly killing monsters for a quest you may run into another player thats Hourde/Alliance.

And is your enemy your heart may start to beat faster u get a little tence while attacking and when you win its like !@#$%^&* yea W00T and you feel good about it. Thats something you cant exsperince in real life.

Unless You Are boxing or UFC but you cant cut thier !@#$%^&* head off with a sword or shoot them in the face with a gun and not get arrested and such.

I myself find myself playing MMORPG just for the PVP exsperince Im not a nerd or a fat little pos Im 6,1 210pnds and work with Concrete making statues.

Games=Escape From real life or just to have fun.

O yea 1 more thing Koreans in Korea are !@#$%^&* addicted to video games i've heard stories where some sit and play games without weeks of sleep and die from not eating or Sleeping at all.
