Once in a while an icon of a little guy with his hands in his pockets and his face red pops up under the mini map and stays there for a while, anyone know what this is?

The icon pops up once in a while, it can be anywhere in the game. It always popup at the same place under the minimap, it cannot be clicked or moved

This means that the red piece, in the case your helmet, needs to be repaired.

LMAO that guy is showing that your durubillity on some items is worn/damaged.

It happens on different characters at different levels, a lot of the time it's in the AH after I have all my equipment repaired kind of puts aside the equipment needing repairs, sometimes when I recessutate after being killed and sometimes just out of nowhere. Stays for 5-10 minutes and then dissappears. A while back this account was banned and I got it reinstated and it's when it started happening.

I play the auction and grind/farm quite a bit so I have very high amounts of gold. Maybe they are just checking if I am not maybe using some kind of cheat. (which I do not)

It's pretty random, sometimes it may be a few days or even a few weeks before it comes back up.

I though that it way be a GM checking up on me or something like that, maybe i'm just paranoid.

What I don't understand is it seams that it only happens to me as far as I know.

It happens to me when my items are worn/damaged and i need to repair. What Addons are you using maybe one of them is confused about when you have/have not repaired other then that i am clueless.

It indicates that you need to repair the item that is red. - Die 10 times and it will all be red. Death = 10% durability loss.

I believe he's talking about the "CT2" icon attached to the bottom of his minimap.

That's so cute... I was wondering what those hands were doing! As for the above posts, yup repair and if you're already repaired disable your addons and see if you still have the problem. The CT2 button? That's CTmod/CTraid which has some pretty nifty options for solo, groups, and raiding.

this is my most favorite thread ever lol, anyways, if you disables the addon and it still shows up after repairing delete the addon from your comp and see if it still happens
