Don't get dismounted from your horse.

Pretty damn straight forward. Just jump. Some game mechanic makes anyone, mobs or PvP miss while your horse is in the air. I know I get seriously annoyed when I get hit and dismounted. Just sprint by something/someone and jump.

no difference for me - jumping or not I still got hit and knocked off randomly. nay

nay you can still get knocked off especially by ranged attacks.
