Hi,
Many of our guild members have moved to AoC. Some live in USA and we are now on an AoC server. Is there a way they can join us? Do they need a Euro client or is it to do with something else.
many thanks

Evening,
Alright I was curious about your question so I started to do a little google searching and discovered many of the forums and posts out there all say if you want to play on a US server from EU and vice versa you must own a copy from that respective area as they do not work with each other, but they also say that there is a chance (not 100%) that your IP depending on you ISP may not allow a EU resident to connect to a US server but there are confirmed reports that people in EU have a US copy and play on US Servers. I confirmed that with a guild member who I discovered lives in the UK and plays with us on a US Server.
However there is also confirmation that a EU copy can not connect to a US server period... BUT! There are a very limit handful of posts that suggest if you do a little file tweaking in some configurations you can get a already installed version of the EU copy to connect to US Servers, thus far they say it has to be a fresh non-patched copy of the game. Suggested where to install the game offline from the net and then edit and once edited the files connect to the internet to patch.
Unfortunately I have not managed to find instructions how and what files need to be edited. I will check around some more and let you know the findings and if it works post up a guide since this would save alot of people some headache. Although I would also say now if it does work it likely won't forever, EU/US and US/EU users connecting together could cause Funcom some problems with there servers so could nerf the workaround.
Ill keep ya updated, Cheers

try a proxy firewall and send them a copy of the version you use

send them your localconfig.xml file i know it worked to get from opened to closed beta and then to live us version. it should allow you to connect to their server but you still need a eu account or us account
