AoC Tricks - Easy gemcutting quest exploit

This is a simple bug. When you get a gem cutting quest don't bother making every gem on the list.

Just zone and make one gem then zone and make another then zone again and make your final gem. your quest will be ready to turn in. If you are high enough level to get the next quest you can do it again.

I had three gems from every tier and was able to complete all the gem cutting quests up to the point where you need a workshop in less than 15 minutes.

Please test and gimme some yays before this one gets fixed. I need a premium some day.

nay.

The quest says make 3 gems. Its how its suppost to be. You just need to zone each time or relog each time you make a gem.

I'm sorry, but /yay. I wish I'd known about this before making 2 dozen crap gems and only getting 1 for my quest. How in the hell are you supposed to know that you need to zone after making a gem?

The AOC Gemcutting forums says to zone or logout everytime. Also shout in OOC or the Nation chats. Ask if Gemcutting is bugged. Instant answer. lol

agreed with exfelon that there is nothing in the game that says relog after making it to complete the quest. An average user will follow directions and make as many gems as they can to complete the quest.

The OP clearly stats it's a simple bug. An exploit just means you're taking advantage of a bug. Granted you won't be banned for this "simple exploit", but I see it as something they'll eventually fix so that logged won't be needed and they'll make you create the exact amount of gems they want you to.

This isnt an exploit. This is a work around to a bug. You do not get any benefit from doing it the way the work around says. You just finish the quest the way it was mean to be finished. Many people will obviously know that gemcutting is bugged out the first time they try to make 3 within a zone. So just shout in OOC or ask. Or search through forums. It took me 5 minutes to get an answer.

Uh not having to make 12 or more gems isn't an advantage? So I should ask in OOC everytime I start a quest if it's bugged? I should search the forum everytime I start a quest? I don't do 5 minutes of research on every quest I pick up.

I wanted to make gems. I choose gem-maker-ologist. I didn't need to research that. Sorry not being ugly, but the first person I asked, said he had to make 30 gems before finishing it. I guess he didn't know either. How many people should I ask each question before I accept one of the answers.

If the quest says make 3 gems and it says 0/3 and you made 3 and it still doesnt work. You can just shout. Obviously if someone says make 30 then he just screwed you over cause he was probably joking. Search forums. I found an answer in 5 minutes of searching through the main forums. Most people who do gemcutting already know to zone each time. Cause gemcutting was bugged like this since early access.
