Darkfall Alerts 0.1.1
Register to unlock hidden image
* This is a small tool that monitors some events in Darkfall and can alert you when they happen.
* Current features:
- Play a sound when a chaos chest is within 300m.
- Play a sound when you receive a private message.
* Download: Register to unlock hidden link
* Please make sure to read our Darkfall Release Policy: Register to unlock hidden link
Instructions
* Download Darkfall Alerts and extract to a folder of your choice.
* Run InstallAlerts.exe.
- This will inject the the program into Darkfall.
- A small window should appear.
* To unload the tool, close the window via the small X.
Miscellaneous Notes and Limitations
* This is meant as a proof-of-concept only and has not been extensively tested (that means it's not our fault when you crash). If there is any interest in this tool I will spend some time improving it and adding new features.
* Currently it will play a sound when you both send and receive a PM. This should be fixed in a future build.

If the Chaos chest thing works then it is an amazing tool. Is "300 Meter" the distance when it shows up in memory, or did you just chose that randomly ?
I guess it is a memory scan and not a pixel check, right ?
If this is Virusfree and works than it is a very big yay from me.

Anyone got an option to check it for viruses etc at the moment ?
Still at work here and can´t do it at the moment.

yay from me, tested it with sending tells, works fine, as well as running around getting the trigger sound for chests. Running at 800x600 res at work though, so I haven't actually found one yet. Would be nice if they were highlighted or something

*(have not verified integrity, only that it works.)

That's roughly the distance they first appear.

No intention of making them any easier to find, publicly, then this I'm afraid.
I will say that the sound goes off when they first appear in a 300m circle. That means it's likely forward, in the direction you're moving, or forward and off to one side just a little. Look at the minimap when the sound goes off and note the terrain that distance away.

Pitty, yeah I've been doing it in a grid style, running north until it triggers, then south west north west or south east north east until it triggers again so I know pretty much right where it is. Found 3 so far, very excellent program. Should be moved to private right away. Though, I'd still like an exact pinpoint

Does this work fine with two clients running?

Yay from me. Heard a sound ding as a clanmate found a chaos chest that spawned right in front of him.

I tested it with two clients and it's working great.

Is this detectable? And is it virused?

This is more of a passive mod and is very unlikely to be detected, but of course this is a small amount of risk with anything like this. As for being clean, I can assure you it is, but I won't be offended if you need a second opinion on that

Yay from me, and definately ge this moved to Premium section. Fantastic little tool.
Only point is that it is still prety difficult to find the chest since it could hav touched the radius a 180° range. Would it be possible to maybe have 4 sounds, one for each Direction N,S,E,W, or is that also already more prcise than you want to code it ?
