I am wondering whether to chose war/ran or war/mon...
Which would be the best one? Is ranger good as secondary? I fancy the idea of using a bow, and then moving onto sword to make it up close and personal. Please reply!

Judging by the newbiness of that question, I'd go with W/Mo.

Seriously though, neither is "better" it just depends on what you are going for.

Thank you for that, I think ill go for the war/mon then.

And you are right about me being a noob. I havent pld guild wars before, but have a wide experience with games like FF11 and Lineage I & II

If you want a heavy damage build go with:
W/E
E/Mo
N/Mo
W/N
W/R
(just a few examples)

farts_mcgee's Warrior/Monk build:

Ok, this is just off the top of my head, but here it goes.

- - - - - -
Ok, for weapons, I use a max damge chaos axe, +20HP while enchanted, and it lenghtens deep wound duration.

I have a shield that is 15def requirement 7 tactics, and it has +44HP while enchanted.
- - - - - -
For armor, I have all droknar's platemail, except my gauntlet's. They are knight's, this reduces the damage you take from attacks.

On my armor I have these runes:
-Major Vigor
-Major Absorbition
-Minor Tactics
-Minor Axe

(And here is a hint which is probably well known on this uber site: Don't buy superior vigor runes. A major vigor, gives you +41HP, and a superior vigor gives you +50HP. So, you tell me, is it worth spending an additional +40k on only +9HP more? :))

Fighting: When I go out to do battle, here is my skill set up:

1)Penetrating Blow
2)Executionar's Strike
3)Cyclone Axe
4)Sprint
5)Healing Breeze
6) (This slot, I often change. The skill I put in here depends on my group. If my group lack's monk's, I will put in the Elite skill Word of Healing, which can be found on the Thirsty River Mission. And, I think you get the point 0_o)
7)Signet of Capture (Optional-Often Vigourous Spirit)
8)Balthazar's Spirit
- - - - - - -
Skill set up:
Healing: 8
Smiting: 3
Axe: 12
Strenght: 1
Tactics: 7
This include's all my runes. Sorry if it is a bit off, I have been farming alot lately and haven't switched back to my normal build.
- - - - - -
Anyway, when I start a mission or w/e, I first cast (8) "Balthazar's spirit" Then when I iniate combat, I will generally be up front in my group, I will select a target and call him by holding down Ctrl and double clicking on his name. Hopefully your team will be smart enought to hit "T" and this will select the target you will call, and they will all attack the same target so you can take him out quickly. Anywho, so I will have selected him, and as soon as my adrenilne get's up, I will use (1) then I will wait untill it gets up again and use (2) Then I will always throw in a (3) cyclone axe every often. Also, if you are some what surrounded, throw on vigourous spirit and whip out cyclone axe, this is a nice combo that will make you HP jump.
