FPS boost : Age of Conan Discussions

There is a mod you can download that CAN increase your FPS. This is not a virus, trojan, keylogger, or anything like that. I've tested the incoming and outgoing internet connections/run my virus protection and scanned it with nortan.

This works by executing the .dll file that is executed by Windows Media Player (WMP) without taking up and RAM or memory making your overall performance better. Anyone that knows a lot about computers can tell you running windows media player in the background will increase performance.

Generally this helps people that have a single/dual core processor that has windows XP.

1. Download it
2. Extract it to your Age of Conan folder
3. Once you have extracted it, you make a shortcut to the program
4. Start up the program
4b. If you get a .NET error you must download a newer version of it. Just type download .NET in google it will bring you to the microsoft site.
4c. If you get an error INSIDE the black box (that looks like command prompt which is the program) that says something about a directory, then you must right click the short cut and go to properties. Inside the properties menu there is something labeled Target. copy and paste this into the text that is beside the word Target: "C:\Program Files\Funcom\Age of Conan\AoCFPSBoostLauncher.exe" C:\Program Files\Funcom\Age of Conan"
5. Start the program and the program will automatically start the AoC patcher.

I installed it today and I have gotten a 10-15 FPS boost. Again as I said before result may vary from computer to computer.

Hope this can help people who, like me, have a sub-par computer for this game.

There was something like this with WMP in WoW about a year ago and Yes at that point it did improve the game play, I will try this, thisafternoon

I must say this made a HUGE impact on my performance.

I can actually ENJOY the game on my laptop now =)

Is this XP only? Does it do anything for Vista users?

I have the error unside the Black Box (problem with the directory).

I don't understand what I must copy/paste and do... It works maybe, but at least there is a lack of documentation.

At the moment, the target is linked with the right directory, but the booster doesn't see it...

This is such a waste of time when you can run this app which is also opensource and does MUCH more.

Bypass movies, apply fps boost, set client priority, and set affinity.

This tool is king.
