Request: Vistrix Raid Strategy : Age of Conan Discussions

We have made a few attempts at this boss. In our trials we found that we made the best progress with 2 tanks juggling aggro (the dragon hits too hard for 1 person to tank for along time). After stuns, we use vistrix bane to unstun the tanks and reduce fire breath. We got to the first wave at 75%, but by then one of the tanks was down. Juggling aggro works to some extent but if there are many consecutive crits and the 2nd tank cant get aggro back its easy for one to still die.

Is there anything we are missing? Any reason the dragon hits so hard? Has anyone managed to tank with only 1 tank? If so, what kind of gear were they using? Thanks in advance for your input.

O, I will tell you a very good tactic for Viastrix if you give me a second. Making a picture to make it more clear.

Why 4 tanks?

We have 2 tanks starting off the fight, making sure tank nr.2 draw agro from the first tank if the debuff is about to kill tank number 1.

The reason why we have 4 tanks, is simply just incase some of the other tanks die, we have some tanks to replace.

We have 1 person in the raid, calling then Vistrix is casting stun, and when every meele are stunned. When that is done, the first caster in the Vistrix Bane setup will run (from the brown dot on map, the pictire in this thread) and into the meele group. The bane is a cone, so you have to stand in front of all meele. It's also important that EVERY meele stay as close to the tank as possible. When meele are unstunned, run to the side to don't get breath.

Now someone on VT will call who is the next "vistrix bane unstunner" and the fight continue like this.

At 75, 50 and 25% there will spawn a lot of adds, simply make sure every meele dps run out from Vistrix, and help with killing the adds. They should go down very fast without any problem. Tryo to time the 75/50/25% with the stun, so meele don't get stunned when they run out. We normally stop dps when hes on 77% to make sure we get the stun first, then run out.

This is what all the fight is about, just focus on those things, make sure the peope with Vistrix bane know what they are doing.

Important Noted
There may happen that Vistrix patrol, just suddently out of nowhere. If he does that, DON'T run after him. Let him patrol, and he will come back to the tank again. If you are unlucky, then he will do the stun when he is patrolling, and that will most likely cause a wipe.

If you experience that Vistrix reset, it's cause the dps draw agro, and Vistrix can't reach the target.

Now have fun with the fight, its really easy

Ok i have a few more questions because we are still having difficulty:

Having 2 tanks has worked up to a point, but many times its impossiple to draw aggro off of the other tank. We have tried a few way around this, basically we lack extra tanks atm, so we have only 2 maybe 3 tanks to spare.

We tried having aggro juggled between stun waves; after stun, 2nd tank charges + goad to pull off, and take turns doing this. This seems a bit more manageable.

Now our biggest problem is the big add waves. It seems they go straight for healers or anyone who is doing aoe for minion kill so we are having trouble getting them down without wipe. Is there any good way to deal with these? Any suggestions are welcome!

Also i have heard of many guilds using 1 tank to kill him, and even doing it without vistrix bane. They claim the tactic is very simple and has to do with positioning. However no one has shared specifics so if anyone knows about this please share

I will post a legit way to kill vistrix shortly, its extremely easy.
