Now, just so you all know I have not yet actually played this game. I ordered my copy on Sunday and am expecting it any day now since it takes about a week to get to where I'm located. I bought the subscription to this site and this guide both to just read up and get a head start before I play.

I really really wish that the guy would atleast include his level when he says "I stay here till I level up". It's really hard to catch up with the guide if you haven't used it from the start.

In time, it will evolve better. We're getting it for free, not much more you can ask for.

has anyone taken the "waypoint updater" apart to ensure no keylogger, etc?

You honestly think people would pay money for something that includes a keylogger? Also, if you were so worried about keyloggers then umm either A) Don't download it, no one is holding a gun to your head or B) Ask people who have used it. I've been using it since I got AoC and with over 10 hours of game play down and it updating every 10 minutes I have yet to see it upload a single thing, it is strictly downloading. I know a thing or two about computer security and packet sniffing and all that good stuff. I wouldn't spread malware especially if I paid for the program myself AND I'm posting it on a forum that I also paid for myself. What good what that do me?

And, if you think I personally would of put a keylogger in there then go pay the $30 for the membership to Ashlings and download the waypoint updater yourself and compare the two.

For some reason the system started to truncate the file name so some people were getting an "unknown file" error.. it should be fixed now!
