Made by someone i don't know the name of. And on a guild page i dont know the name of. Got it from a mate in a mail... Ask barag for the info.
The server is still down and I'm bored. Feelings aside, I think we should try to take and keep the BK that has the most tactical advantages.
The 8 most important things to look at is (in my opinion):
1. Distance to enemy res point. The further away the more time they lose running back to the BK. And they will have to spend more time waiting for people before they can regroup. Looking at Sturmgarde you can clearly see that when a defender dies and respawns he is always going to be close to the battle. A defender in Burnheim will need to run 4 times the distance to reach the outer wall.
2. Number of external siege points, some keeps have 3 others have 2. 2 points is a lot easier to defend than 3.
3. The distance between the external siege points. If they are close to each other they are a lot easier to defend as we can move people fast between the two points.
4. The distance between our res point and the external siege points. This varies a lot between different BK’s. Less distance means we can get people faster back into the fight. Comparing Burnheim, Oakenhome and Fort bane to Sturmgarde and Gardak you can see the distance between the inner and outer walls vary massively.
5. The size of the BK as small bk means that the internal sigepoints are closer to each other and thus easier to defend. Also a smaller BK cost less to upgrade (walls towers). One BK has 13 towers+walls and others have 9 towers+walls in the outer wall. Some keeps are more expensive to build and because of the much larger frontage are also much harder to defend
Example.
Burnheim has 13 towers
Sturmgarde has 9 towers
6. For keeps like Sturmgarde and Gardak the NPC guards have a short tight patrol path through the buildings. When the walls are breached during a siege they will be more effective as defenders. For keeps like Burnheim, Oakenhome and Fort Bane the NPC patrol path is much, much longer, when the wall is breached the NPC guards may be miles away on their patrol which makes them useless. This makes some barracks worth defending and others, especially Burnheim are clearly not worth defending.
7. Will having a keep in the chimmerian end give us any advantage. Yes an extra res point when farming pvp resources.
8. Disadvantages, there is a lot of res points in the chimmerian end, unless the old map is used for sieges it will be very difficult to predict from where resurrected enemy's will come. (thus giving the harassment group a very hard task (look at my post about BK defense for more info about this).
So which one to choose from a tactical standpoint
Having made a fast circuit of all the BKs a few weeks back 3 of them really stands out. would love it if someone else could take a look in case I have overlooked anything.
Oaknehome:
Pro’s
As its very far from the enemy res point, and has a good jump point ( short fall) very close to the main gate/siegepoint.
Con
Large distance between internal respoint and outer walls
Amut’Anun:
2 Siegepoints that is very close together
Sturmgarde:
Small BK
Kush end
Amut'anun
Pros
two siegepoints
that is very close to each other.
Con's:
1. next to one of the siege points there is a large rock wich the enemy can use to brak line of sight.
2. no good spots to jump the wall
Gardak:
Pro
2 siegepoints
1. short ditance from res point to walls (dont rember the exact run dist as it has been a while since I was inside)
Con:
1. Lack of good Jump spot
2. Its Sanguis Attexo's BK and theya re very well organixed, so it might be very hard to take this BK
Cimmerian end
Fort Bane (bad choise)
very long way from res point to wall.
enemy res points all over the map.
Stonehammer (bad choise
the 2 sige points are very far apart
enemy res points all over the map.
Caelnach (decent choise)
Pro's
2 siege points that is fairly close to each other
Cons
very close to enemy res point (if the new map is used)
enemy res points all over the map.(if the new map is used)
Aquloninan end
Sturmgard:
3!! siege pionts
I made this ALL by myself. This is like my second thing i made by myself. And i worked really hard with it. You can't really test this out. Its just an good guide if you wan't to go siege batteling. And i have done that a lot!
