Yes, they are probably old, but if it is night time, type /day, and it will become daytime, and if u have burden, find a nice spot under a tree where no one will find you, and then hide your stuff there, log onto another character on the same server, and pick up the stuff, and your other character wont have burden. and a good way to hold in your cast is to 1. cast the spell
2. hit up and squiggle z and c
3. keep squiggling z and c to hold in your cast
4. eventually let go when you want to release your bolt, BUT, softly keep hitting z and c
