anyway to speed up updates after patches : DAOC Discussion

It seems as of late mythic is thwarting radar users by implementing updates every other day. So a user like myself who primarily plays during daytime is sol waiting for Xu to update. If anyone knows of a better setup with less downtime please post because i am positive there are working radar programs now while Xu is down yet again.

Wyv dosn't get paid for doing this, he has a full time day job so no there isn't really anyway to speed this up.

Other radars that may or may not be working now probably cost money just for the radar itself and those people get paid to make that radar work basically.

And before you say anything bout your xunleashed subscription thats for xunleashed not for Wyv's Radar. That subscription gives you access to a lot more than just the radar.

Yes i knew that wyv had a job , the only reason i got Xu was for the radar. Just wondering if anyone can give me one info for one of the other radar providers who pay someone to keep the program operational.

Those other apps you are talking about are mostly down and not working. The release times is (typically) longer than what Wyvern - EVEN WITH HIS JOB - can release.

Secondly, Wyvern is working on some vode that will - USUALLY - autopatch the DLL's without any work from him.

He's working on this for three reasons; One, it's a cool project and allows him to throw a little sand in Mythic's face. Two, it should allow people to not be waiting on Wyvern after every patch. Third, it should reduce the number of people yelling at him to maintain something that HE DOES NOT *HAVE* TO MAINTAIN.

Luckily, Wyvern is about as patient as they come. I know that if it were myself, I would have held up the release date of the patch one day for every rude post I got.

This guy is doing this on his own time and has released a patch within 12 hours of EVERY patch Mythic has released. Cut him some slack.
