Suspension for using Unleashed : DAOC Discussion

Used Unleashed last night ... got a one day suspension email from Mythic today ...

So be forwarned ...

to be more detailed: This violation occurred after the June 22nd, 2004 release of New Frontiers

I have tried to warn people about xu + doac. It is not safe until RC9 has been released.

I would also strongly recommend deleting your errorlog.txt file and replace it with a folder called errorlog.txt

Anti-Hack Technology – First Catch

On one hand, we were happy to see such a healthy drop in the number of people using “radar” programs (compared to what we turned up on our first few test runs of the new anti-hacker technology). On the other hand, we are sad that some people seemed to think we were bluffing when we said we can now detect these programs. As promised earlier here on the Herald, we will extend a short amnesty towards the doubters. We have just sent out a few hundred one day suspensions.

If you receive this email, and you do not use these programs, check the name of the suspended account carefully before you panic. If you sold or traded your account to another player, it’s possible that he didn’t change the contact email information.

If you did not receive this email, but your account has been suspended, you should update the email address on the account ASAP. We will never sell or trade our email database, so please provide a legitimate contact address.

If it’s your account, and you got the email, please uninstall your third party programs immediately. You now have proof it wasn’t a bluff.

They said they were doing it, and so many people didn't take it seriously or just kept right on going. Foolish really. I for one will not try X until a month's time has one by.

It's BS. Radared on my BG toon's account yesterday and got nothing.

Your account is now being suspended for 1 day. Any continued violation

clauses 14, 15, or 16 after this suspension will result in further

I won't use XU until that RC9 comes out.

given that I cant stand navigating NF w/o a real XU type of map I boldly attempted to use it for past 2 days.

On 5 different accounts 12hrs a day with no problems

So im guessing the people who got the emails have one of these conditions:

1. Have been Appealed for radar before and are on a hotlist

2. Hotlist member who was tested with this anti -hack crap and got caught

3. You're an idiot and ran b line for someone, got appealed, they used their super code and pwnd you


Most likely #3 of course 100ppl will reply saying this is not the case, but if their new technology was so uber then i should have gotten 6 emails by now.

Give it some time and all you script kiddies will be busted.

You should hold back the tears here however as it comes with the territory. You cheat, you take the risk and when you're banned, no one is going to lend you a shoulder to cry on.

Let me first say how impressed I am that your able to run 5 accounts 12 hours a day. I'm sure Admin is thrilled that you purchased 5 copies of XUnleashed in order to do that.

There are also several other capabilities to explain why the user got caught and you didn't...

1 - Timing, this is not something they have running all the time, they take a snapshot when they want the list of accounts.

2 - Your an idiot and a liar.

3 - see 2

4 - Your email accounts aren't up to date on those 5 accounts you've tirelessly built up.

5 - You haven't yet figured out how to actually check email...and see 2.

But hey, keep using it please. One less of you in game will make it all that much more fun for the rest of us.

I love the self-righteouss folks whom come here to call others "cheaters" like they have nothing better to do. Hatred and prejudice causes division, you are no better than the cheaters

Self-righteous? Hell yes, I can proudly say I don't use maphacks to 'win' at the game.

However, folks like you who feel they are apathetic with how DAoC works and cannot respect the wishes of other players by utilising third-party programs to compete are the sad ones. Trolls like me pop in every once so often to point out to the naysayers that Mythic wasn't shitting - they're suspending people for maphacking.

Well, using scripts - I wouldn't go as so far as to call any who pay to use Xunleashed 'hackers'.

I'm glad Xunleashed has made your gaming experience more enjoyable, but as they say - it's time to pay the piper.

I have not and WILL not get caught by Mythic. I have a special trick only a few people are privy to. From NF release I've logged about 10 hours a day and have yet to see that little email they're talkin about.

1 day off here and i was only logged in for an hour and not rvr'ing

edit: it was sat. night i was on. got my ban email doring the day today.
