Why is XU not updated yet? : DAOC Discussion

Wyv you guys either need to charge us more money or provide better service. It's unacceptable that it's been over a month since NF was released and we have uncompleted maps, and updates are inconsistent. If this was a free service fine, but we pay, you guys set the fee and we pay for a service. If you can't provide proper service either close shop or do what it takes to provide good customer service (increase your fee, hire help, etc). This is really a poor business model. Today businesses are service oriented more than ever. With this particular business philosophy you guys will set yourself up for failure. If I had to make a decision today to renew my XU services if they were expired I can tell you with out any hesitation that I would absolutely not. I hope you don’t take this as a dig, please consider it as candid customer feedback.

I agree. If you can't update quick enough, at least dont ignore me asking for an eta. Not that youre out of town or anything, I see you replying and stuff.

guess you guys dont have access to priv section. Wyn said mythic has added some more detection code in the game.dll and hes hesitant at putting out a updated version until he determines what they are doing.

The above poster is correct. Go to the Premium User forum, cause this forum is open to everyone, whether they paid for XU or not.

If people havent paid for a XU susbscription then there's certain information they shouldn't have, so go to the forum they can't enter and read the topics there.

I WOULD LOVE TO GO TO THE PRIVATE SECTION!!!!! But I cant cause its been 3 days now with 3 PM's to the Admin and I"M STILL NOT UPGRADED!!

Yeah I'd like read it, but upgrading just doesnt seem to be happening anytime soon.

Well you have things mixed up here.
You pay for XU and it works fine.
The part that is not working is the map plugin wich you dont pay for.
Admin is the one getting payed for the XU application (that is not just for DAOC), Wiv created the map plugin and he is not getting payed for it because he dont work for the XU team.

Not trying to be a smart !@#$%^&* but i like things to be straight about who is getting money for what and what is working and what not.

Actually, I can update the daoc service in like 20 mins. But they added lots of new antidetection code that I have been looking through. because alot of people were banned a couple of weeks ago, I do not just blindly put out updates anymore. I know that some of you have a death wish and are just trying to get yoruself banned so you can move on to other games. But the majority of the others really do not want their accounts to be banned. Therefore, I have been trying to analyze the new detection routines to see if they wil further make the DU Service detectable.

Joendoe you have your perception of what I said confused. Many of us subscribe to XU because of the map plugin, the same type of plugin that other companies provide. If a function is part of a service than it becomes an expected feature. XU allows for certain Plugins and therefore they have a responsibility to maintain those services. If Plugins were not intended to be part of the service than my $20 wasn't intended to subscribe to XU. You cannot separate XU and XU provided services. I personally paid money for things that are currently not working, and as a paying consumer that frustrates me. I hope my explanation clears up your confusion.

Keep in mind he has kept us up and running very well in the past. Maybe the new code is harder to decipher than originally thought. Having 3 years invested into my accounts, I dont want them banned so I say take your time Wyvern, please take your time. Remember it is cheating and illegal anyway so XU is just a bonus to the game play. If you cant play without it, then your pretty pathetic. Yes it's nice to have and I love it especially crafting but I would rather have peace of mind than a rush job. So you guys pressuring Admin and Wyvern why dont you stfu and wait.

Well, I have added a few more anti-detection routines to the DU Service. I was going to post it tonight, but am just about to fall asleep here at the keyboard and dont want to release something that is bad. or something i overlooked because of sleep deprivation.

When i pay for XU 2 years ago (almost) i remember that it was clearly stated somewhere that what i buy is XU it self and is just a program that alows players to "cheat" (luck of better wording) in difrent games if they can come up with ideas and can build their own plugins/scripts/macros.
It was clear to me that i would have either to create something my self or wait for some one else to come up with something for my selected game (DAOC in that case).

Is a difrense to what YOU exect and what you pay for.
You pay for XU ONLY...no one promised any where that the map will be there for you.
As far as i know (and i knew that when i pay for XU) wyverx can stop updating the map plugin tomorrow.
Wyvernx is just an other guy like the rest of us that he has the knowlege and he can program the plugins.
Same way as Rychirich and his MegaBot script.
The way you thinking if in few months Rychirich stops uptading his MegaBot we should all start yelling that we pay 20 dollars and because WE expect it it should be there all the time?
My advise to you is to go back and read what you pay for my friend and if you find ANY WHERE that you pay for anything more than XU it self i will be happy to come back here and apologise to you.

But I'm a nice guy, so I dont mind updating and making things better.

The way I see it, I am working on other plugins for various games (while I try to find that ever elusive game that i really like, still have high hopes for wow).

also, I take the updates that I add to one plugin and use them in the other ones I am working on.

See but heres the other thing im sure admin considers.

I payed my 20$ FOR XU the only reason i did was so i could USE the daoc plugin. now if the service went down and the DAOC plugin was no longer working, id say ok fine it worked i got my 20$ worth, but dont plan on renewing my subscription as im sure many many people here would do the same.

I think the service has been awesome, i understand there are lots of issues w/ detection -etc-

DirtyDozen I have had XU since April, I only got it so I could compete with you people who have carried it for 2+ years. I dont care about cheating I just like competing on an even playing field. The map plugin is fun and the only reason I subscribe to XU.

Johdoe your missing the point and I am not going to explain business law/ethics to you, it would be a waste of time.
