DF tools has worked since it was released. If this guy can't find the chests then he probably doesn't understand the area of detection.

I agree, DFTools works quite properly, the area of detection is in a 360 degree style radius of your current position. If you think of a large circle and are not running directly towards the center of the circle and barely skim the side of it, you will still hear the beep sound. The main part of it is finding out which bearing you must take to correctly go towards the center of the circle (point of origin of the chest)

Check the log file, or open the debug console, and it should give an error about the sound file path. Also try a path without spaces since, honestly, I wasn't that careful about formatting the path string.

I believe I remember reading that the area of detection is actually in a cone shape(i.e. the letter V with the intersect point being the player) up to roughly a mini-map screen away at 100%.

Maybe clockwork can clarify.

It works now. It needs the path to have no spaces in it.

For example: Not: C:/Program Folder/Program/anything.exe
Instead: C:/Program_Folder/Program/anything.exe

I am nervous about using this. How detectable is it?

I didn't understand the area of detection and that is exactly why I asked how it worked. I didn't say the program didn't work. Jesus.

when it beeps, put a /waypoint down, then run in a circle 300 meters away from waypoint and you will find

Great idea. Only one question - how do you know how far 300 meters is? lol.

Clockwork? You finally showed up here? Or did I give you an invite?

Admin, I've known Clock forever. I've watched him tear through ASM op code like a maniac.
