The Pit - Hidden Chest : DDO Submissions

After you have completed "the Pit", run back in, keep going straight and you will hit a long shaft going down, if you look over edge it will look like it goes on forever. Either use featherfall and jump down, or hop down lvl for lvl till you see a ladder and climb down the rest of the way ( ladder is one long @ss ladder ). When you reach the bottom you will find yourself in lava, watchout the lava burns you ( might be good idea to have some fire prot potions ). there are 3 or 4 oozes to kill, you may not want to try this solo as they are pretty tough. In the very back corner you will find a hidden chest, sometimes i get crap loot, but occasionly i have had some really good ubber weapons of base value 32 000 drop.

The chest can only be accessed after you completed the pit, not before.

The chest he's talking about isn't exactly hidden, it's the chest that spawns after you kill a rare ooze down in the lava pit. you do not have to complete the pit to get it, but you do have to have the all 3 furnace rooms opened, and a valve on the floor of each one with a blue gem lit up to allow it to spawn. this chest can spawn the muckdoom weapon, a heavy mace of greater ooze bane (muckbane's bigger brother).

The location of the chest, and how to get it are very well documented in several pit run guides, so it's not a exploit of any kind, it's simply how to get there, and it's not exactly explained well as he missed the part of needing to turn the 3 valves (one in each of the furnace rooms-and all 3 are on the floor level).
