Macroing Gone to Far? : EVE Online General Discussions

I know this question has never been asked but, how do you know when macroing has gone to far? I see this guy mining 24/7 at this ice field and you can always tell when someone is using a macro as the same actions and timings are the same. This guy in the image below which i captured had 4 maybe 5 alts mining away, is this wrong? mining that much with macros?

I would of thought so but thats my views, i develop macros in my spare time but i would of never of thought having 4 or 5 ships would be safe and i wouldnt of though morally it would be right.

Whats your views?

Unfortunatley you don't know if its a isk farmer or not.
Is a macro being used, most likely. If the user(s) were PMed would they respond? If yes then someone is at the keyboard "controlling" so they won't be kicked or banned. Do I think it wrong for ONE person to do this? yes.

Little know fact, most major mining ops in 0.0 space use macros heavily, may just be the cargo to jetcan transfer but they are used. The picture used is the norm in 0.0 space. While I was in ASCN Alliance it was nothing to have mining ops with 15 to 20 miners and 3 or 4 haulers and that was a site to see! Can you imagine a miillion Arkonor or Bistot in a hour!

Should macros be able to support 3 or 4+ alt characters?

Should a macro program be developed so that it can handle that many ships mining?

Depends on the user's needs. I have a few accounts that I macro with, now in 0.0, you can get away with it a little more because not as many folks around to peek in on you, but I do mine in this nice 1.0, well, it was nice, until the farmers showed up. all sorts of funky names and you just KNOW they are macroing. I fook with them alot too on an alt of mine. it is fun!

I always mine in 0.8 space so i know i am safe for attacks from other users, if they do attack then all hell breaks lose lol

I used to live in 0.0... but now that I macro, I just stick to 0.9 cuz my barge is made of paper!
