Smuggling : EVE Online General Discussions

Anyone know how to do smuggling effectively?

I'm assuming a covert ops ship and a lvl 4 cloak so you can sit on the gate, uncloak and jump in seconds or a very fast ship but at a potential cost of 25 mil plus to try the cloakc trick it could be an expensive experiment for me.

Anyone have any ideas or tricks?

There is a black market skill you can only get at character creation that lowers you chance of getting scanned/caught at gates. I'm not sure of the choices you have to make to get that skill, but I do know it exists.

Skill works fine, has to be done at creation. I don't remember the path either but it can be found in the Eve skills forum. It will drop your chance of being caught down to about 25% when maxed, versus 75% with no skills. However, moving the drugs is not the problem. The problem is where to buy and sell them:) Look at that for a bit...

Cloaking wont help, customs will scramble and web you INSTANTLY if they find any contraband onboard.

The only sure way to smuggle is to scout ahead for customs hanging at gates. Then you can take alternative route or just sit at station and wait when they leave (this can take a hour or two).

Containers wont save you from scanning, even secure ones.

Fast ship wont save you from customs as well.

Just take up mining!!! lol...
