Cochineal Dye : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

Just trying to figure out what book had the receipe for Cochineal Dye ..the Ink is listed but the dye isnt in my receipes just wonder if any other scholar found this also.

It's in the Artisans Refining V4 book. Got it as a drop in newbie-land.

The ink is in Artisan Components Vol 5&6 which is one book.

Also note that it requires either copper or lapis lazuli which is the tier 1 rare drop from mining. I bought a copper cluster for 1gp today which is the going rate.

you also get the recipes later on in the standard, vendor purchased books. The only benefit I've seen of the dropped books is that you get some recipes sooner then others. It's possible that adept3 spells/skills only appear in these special books as well but I haven't read up on the Sage 40 books to see.

Any idea which of those books hold the cochineal dye n ink later on?

Well from a source in game that is making Adept 3 spells said the "dye" comes from Adv Scholar vol 11 so keep an eye out for it ... I know what is need to make the dye but as for making it I dont have the receipe yet ... and since books do not fall on newbie Isle no longer as per last patch... 4 is a bust... so I am going to try hitting the outlying areas of the city.

They have caused an annoying rift there because while its good they have got them off of the noob island anywhere they are likely to spawn now is going to be greyed out :s O well. im on most nights and will pay 50 sil a piece to whoever can find the recipes for me.

Well to confirm which book the dye is in ...Artisan Refining Vol 4 along with other rare interim item receipes ...wax leather was among those.....I bought off the Blackmarket for 13s
