Got an E-mail saying "Plat Guide" : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

Ok, tell me whats up with this... I got an e-mail the other day claiming to be a snippet from some arseface's "plat guide" and was wondering if anyone could tell me if it's a waste of time or if this thing is the real deal... I'll copy/paste it here.

Heres a quick tip from Quadar's Plat Guide that I've found to be
very successful:

Hunt Hill Giants in the Mountains of Rathe. A level 40 druid
friend of mine is making 400 plat an hour, plus decent
experience. I also have a level 38 Mage that's doing nicely
there.

New to Everquest? Here's some advice that should get you on your
feet no problem:

At LVL 1 find a way to get to Northern Queynos. The
fastest way is by use of the PoK Portal. When you get
there, the first thing you will notice about this zone
is that it is FULL of Mobs. All of then LVLs 1-6.
This is the best place to LVL and Get cash to Start
out your character. (Note: If your evil.. Steer clear
of the guards and sell in PoK) Go around and look for
Gopher Snakes. These will drop King Snake items that
will sell in excess of 2 gold a piece. With the high
drop rate in this zone and the endless Monsters, you
will be in you armor and spells in No Time.

When Queynos seems to run dry for you, Go to
Butcherblock and Look for the Wondering Ogres. They
Drop a coin that you can sell to the Adventures camp
for 4.5pp each. They are LVLs 9-12 and drop the coins
every time that i've seen. If you go just outside
Dagnor's Zone and look for them, this should make you
50pp an hour. 50pp an hour can put you in a set of
Ry'gorr of Scalemail. If your a caster and cant wear
those, You can offord cured silk for this price or
maybe something better.

I hope these tips are helpful to you! If you have any questions
feel free to shoot me an email.

Those are all EQL references. Rathe Mountains, to my knowledge, have now become an underwater mountain range somewhere in the shattered lands.

Aye, all EQ1.

Just a funny sidenote with the hill giants in Rathe Mountains.. Used to log in my thief at the zone and using offsets and a macro would target and pickpocket the HG's all night long. Wake up in the morning and be massively overweight and 1-2000 plat richer. No big deal in today's EQL economy from what I understand, but this was back in the day where 50k plat was a lot of money :P

Log in the wiz on the other computer, transfer all the money and gate back to the bank. Start the macro again and become once more that strange anonymous player that stands on the hill all day in Rathe just checking out the scenery.

Had such a fun time with offsets.

Its bull and it all has to do with EQ 1. Rathe montians, if ur a caster, specially druid /wizard/high lvl mage/necro... u can make 400 + a hour easily, only thing is, thats prolly counting the weapons that they drop (fine steel for 5 - 9pp each) which weigh a sh*t load. Dont buy the guide, as for North qeynos thats crap, any newbie zone is fine and perosnally, i hate North qeynos in both of the everyuqests... anyway its up to you but i call it a load of bull
