There is a place in zek to farm the rare drop (metal) chests : EverQuest 2 General Discussions

I came across this one the other day. in zek there is a lumbermill on the way to Three Toe's Lake. ouside the lumbermill there are two groups of orcs that have a named ^^ in the group. these encounters are considered epic for some reason, which is why i believe this is a glitch. for some reason these will on occasion drop metal chests with master1 scrolls, rare raws, and rare weapons. just about every rare these drop is worth a plat or more. note that these do not drop the master chests very often, but considering the value of the drops it's worth camping. the one that roams the road is more likely to drop opal geodes, while the one that's located on the side of the lumbermill is more likely to drop scrolls and such.

i suggest that anyone who has access to zek get a group together and get some harvesting in before they nerf this, if they haven't already that is.

I have spent hours on end killing those at lvl 30-32 and have't seen anything other than that no rent weapona and the hammer drop there on my server.

I have gotten a few tier 4 rares here you can farm them solo (well I could as a crappy guardian at lvl 40) although some of the groups of Savages are greyed out to me. The mob groups you want are Centurions (found on the road) and Savages (found off the road) in that area. The savages and centurions only spawn during day and have placeholders at night (or vice versa I cant remember). A nice way to farm it if you are unsure doing it solo and/or the mobs are greyed out to you is to grab a partner who is lvl 30 if you are 40++. Just send a tell to some lvl 30-34 player and say 'Hey do you want to DUO farm tier 4 rares like feysteel and high qual pelts'. 80 percent of time most come to join me. I have never gotten a steel chest (master chest or whatever you wanna call it) But I have gotten rare harvest items (Like shaman medicine bags = HQ pelt, Feysteel goblet = feysteel cluster, etc).

Another mob to check that is pretty easy if you are farming this zone and you clear out all the Savages and Centurions is Terkus the raidleader. He is located east of the outpost (the docks/zone in). As you are leaving the docks/outpost make a right/east and go past the Tallon Warpriests etc he is way in the back behind them. I cant remember the formal name of this area. A nice little trick to check if he is up is to use the old 'miniscouting' trick (do a /hug terkus) while you are over near 3 toes lake farming the Savages and Centurions.

As a guardian I didnt get hit a lot or take a lot of dmg but my dmg output is severely lacking and the battles took a while. I just got bored with the camp but it is a fine area to make some money.

Is this still working?

I camped these guys for a few hours last night, but did not get anything special, ie no rares or master scrolls. I cleared out each spawn point and prolly killed the two different types of nameds about 6 times in each spot.

I am curious if anyone is still getting good drops?
