Charm is an AA ability for furies and warden... it is their AGI line... 1st pt of AA is in shapeshift.. 4pts in the agi buff.. then 4pts in the animal mez (very useful..nice that you get it along the way) then you can put points into charm after that... So you need 10lvls of AA before you can even get charm.. now you see why using this isn't viable for druids before about lvl 40 atleast :(

On a plus note.. if you play a coercer you get charm and mez spells throughout your levels.. your first charm and first mez comes at level 2!! so you can start leveling like this as soon as newbie xp tapers off..

If it works in group.. no idea.. probably.. not much use though unless you wanna power level another toon prolly

For a Coercer, which happens to be an Evil class, so don't confuse them with Illusionists, You get your first Charm spell at level 1 and it is named Befriend. At 10, you get Charm, at 20 Coerce, 33 Beguile, 47 Dominate, 61 Domination. For other classes, you can easily do a Google search and get spell/skill lists, and Adventure abilities.

Edit: llamapoopy, on the charm/mez abilities for Furies/Wardens, I believe he stated they were Adventure only skills, which means you would need the Kingdom of Sky expansion pack, in order to gain levels.

10 Levels in AA is a piece of cake. Just run around and get all the discovery locations, Collection quests, and Killing named mobs.

For those that dont know how to do this efficiently, here is the tip. Find a good place to hunt with ^^^ mobs. They can be green-yellow con to you. Orange and up is risky due to resists. As a Coercer, I pull with ego shock line. This damages the mob and roots it in place. I then quickly mez the mob and charm it.

Next, I send my pet on another ^^^ mob. While my pet is fighting I cast a nuke on the mob (avoid dots). Then I keep it rooted while my pet is being killed. After my pet dies mob has already been rooted and damaged. Simply mez and charm. Rince and repeat. This is an EXTREMELY boring but fast way to lvl. The real trick is knowing where to go and at what lvl.

When you charm a mob - it's like your pet. Hence, the terminology "pet" when the above poster referred to his technique.

What is your point? Everyone knows how to get AA already lol..

Anyways yeah on to the point of this post... ok so now Im sure a few of you have been wonder what some good hunting spots are for high forties and low 50's furies (coercer too :D ) here are the best ones I found. Will update as I find more..

General tactics:

-Find the ^^^ you want to charm...
-do some form of damage to him (dmg shield.. root nuke... whatever you want)
-Mez the mob
-Charm him..
-right click and CANCEL your mez in your "maintained spells" bar so your pet is no longer mezzed.. this will speed up killing immensly
- Find another ^^^ you would want to charm.. send your pet after it...
-You do NOT need to do any damage to the other mob at this point.. if you are killing yellows...now would be a good time to go and debuff the resists of the mob your pet is on (invest in a hex doll :P)
-once your pet dies you get xp.. and be ready to mez the thing that killed your pet and now is pissed at you!
-charm that mob.. cancel your mez.. rinse, repeat

43-47:

Everfrost:
^^^ Snow leopards.. they are just past the ice tunnel you through to get to permafrost.
I didn't actually hunt here as it was pretty greened out by the time I got charm. Some may have different results or somewhere better, but I cannot think of anywhere that would be better... very out of the way in a non-traffic area (atleast on my server)
Make sure you grab the quest at the nearby gravestone that wants you to kil 12 leopards for a little boost of xp while you hunt these.

48(ish)-54

Sinking Sands: Ok now the fun starts...

At around 48 your best bet is to charm and kill the ^^^ octopus and sharks that swim in the north western ocean of the zone.. it is by twin tears... they are in the waters directly around where the CQ4 Djinn spawns if you know where that is. Kill these til around 50 or 51. then move to...

RAPTORS... this is where your xp will really start moving fast! the raptors in SS are lvl 51-52 ^^^ and are near the twin tears too (more specifically near the Coastal pass tent).. the ones you want are the wandering ones..NOT the grouped ones.. these are insanely fast exp..Also make sure you watch out for the stealthed groups of raptors.. you may not be able to see them if you are a coercers (furies get a see invis spell) but the groups all stand around dead gnolls.. so just avoid wherever you see a gnoll body on the ground. These raptors give good xp til lvl 54 after that you gotta find your own places to hunt ^^^... I wont post my spots til they green out on me.. :P too much competition on pvp

Alternately.. if that is being killed your best bet is to go DIRECTLY north of the raptors.. jump in the ocean and charm the sharks in there.. they are 51-52 ^^^.. but I get sick of fighting underwater and it's rather boring (and they seem to drop less chests than raptors).. If you go this way.. just start by the PoF zone line in the water.. work your way to the octopuses and lvl 50 sharks by the CQ4 djinn then back to the PoF zone line.. each circuit should net you about 10% minimum if you have vitality.

I'll add more later..(probably edit my post too for all the typos Im sure it has).. it's too late right now though :P

Just so you all know when a little more about the Fury's AA Charm.

It only charms animals, it does not charm any thing that undead, or not of a normal animal class.

So please read the AA description before choosing this path, and when it says animal it does mean animal. Not Droags, Aviaks, Bixies, Ravasects, or the Eye things (whos name escapes me), or anything that is part animal.

However it did charm a Tangle fly which is an insect, so I am going to try the spiders in BS tonight.

Also it requires 3 con slots to charm a pet, so watch out for your lowered stats.

I mention this as I am a 68 Fury and thought I will re spec and do some fast solo XP in KOS, but as I found out there is very little I could charm and use in this way.

This is unlike the Coersor verion that will charm anything except heroics.

So be carefull I use a respec to find that currently the Fury charm and mezz is fair to useless.

Does anyone have any suggestions where a lvl 68 can go to use this method to make it more effective ?

Thanks

Wow, this works amazingly well, even when grouped. It's simple to duo with this technique--one guy does crowd control and the other does the charm. It's a bit harder solo, but still possible, because of the possibility of charm breaks. You really need an ADEPT 3 or MASTER to get the most of this technique.
