Banking in enemy territory : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

Posted this in a thread on the SOE boards, thought sombody here could use it:Quote:

there are 2 issues to deal with:

1) the fact that hostile bankers won't deal with you

2) the fact that theres always a guard positioned nearby.

Problem 1 is easily circumvented: invis. Either invis yourself, if possible, or be grouped with a player who can invis you.

Problem 2 takes a bit more planning. There are actualy 2 workarounds. The first is to have a friend (ie. the group member who invised you) who is not KOS to spam the guard with hails. This needs to be done litteraly nonstop- have them target the guard, and hammer the 'H' key while you do your bussieness. If they stop for even a second, the guard will turn his attention to you, and you'll get ported out.

The second solution can be done solo, but requires some work ahead of time. On a character who is not KOS, go to the banker in question, and, with your log on (/log), hail them. Assuming they reply with some sort of text (not all do), open your log, and find the line containing the NPCs reply. It will look somthing like \aNPC 12345 Banker Soandso :Banker Soandso \/a. The number (12345, in this hypothetical example) is what we want. Make a note of it, and log onto your neutral character (any KOS character, for that matter- a Freeportian could use a Qeynos bank using either method as well), and carefuly navigate to the area of the bank. Now, having been there with a friendly character, you should have an idea of the lay of the land- what your looking for is a spot outside the building of the bank that meets 2 criteria: its outside of agro range of the guards, and would be in range distance-wise of the banker, if you had line-of-sight. Now, for the fun part: type the following- "/applyverb 12345 bank" (replace 12345 with the appropriate ID#- also, it may be apply_verb, I forget the exact syntax- just type /apply and hit [TAB], the game will auto complete the correct command). Viola- you now have access to your bank. For kicks, put an item in your shared bank. If your a glutton for punishment and happen to have more than one neutral toon, you can log onto the other neutral toon and, using either /show_window inventory.Bank or /bag_open -4, you can see that there are indeed items in your 'neutral' shared bank.

An additional bit I opted to leave out of that post: Once you have an item in said shared bank, you can log onto any character (good, evil, or neutral) and use the /restore_lost_shared command. Zone once, and the items you put in the neutral bank will all pop into your overflow slot on that character. Not terribly useful, but interesting. Could be used to squeeze 4 more storage slots out of an acct- when you need to retrive the items, use the command and pop em into your overflow.

Forgot the main point of the post (since it was a reply to a question): contrary to popular belief, theres actualy 3 shared banks. Good, Evil, and Neutral. If you use the above tactic, you can take a character whos betraying and deposit items in the neutral shared bank.

Must be what is planned for the future, a neutral bank. I heard there will be a neutral city in the expanision.
