EQ2 Ultra Bot Installation Question! : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

Hey I downloaded the EQ2 Ultra Bot, and followed the intructions that came with it, but there is only on step i cant figure out.

d) If you dont have a custom UI then copy the folder customUI in ....\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest II\UI\

Add a file name EQ2.ini in your Everquest II directory and add the following content into it

cl_ui_skinname customUI
cl_ui_subdir UI/

*** You can use the eq2.ini that is included in the zip file.

---- Not sure where to get the file EQ2.ini, and not sure how to put the following contents into it. It does say that there is a eq2.ini file in the zip file but i cant find it. Can someone help, or at least send me there file they have for this step. thanks

Those videos just show how to download and install Xunleashed...There is no video on setting up Ultrabot (or any bot/script) for that matter; but there should be one! C'mon Mfaiola, give the people what they want!

For the eq2.ini you just need to take the one included in the zip file and put it in your eq2 game folder, you dont have to add anything in it.
I checked and its in the zip file.

Thanks Slam for the reply. I saw you posted that walkthrough earlier today and its much appreciated! I did try it without any success, but tonight I am gonna complete start from scratch and try again; I think I made so many little changes that something must be tweaked.

Did have 2 specific questions in regards to your config steps:

1. I use a custom UI (Profit). Therefore, I should just be copying the 2 UI files to my existing Profit folder, correct?

2. Is there any place that requires my characters name? I have seen other ini's that require this, and noticed yours only asks for server. Just want to make sure I am not over looking anything.

I will report back later with my progress *crosses fingers*

Update: I am happy to report that I finally got it working! I am not sure exactly what fixed it. After completely reinstalling everything the mousedemo would not run. I found this post (http://www.taultunleashed.com/phpbb2/vi ... hp?t=36726) that suggests loading directx8 & 9 test from within UI. I did that and mousedemo worked on both. I then tried EQ2 and it worked there too!!

Next I installed Ultrabot following your instructions to a 'T' and it starts now (although I am still learning how to use it properly).

This brings me to another question:

3. I copied the eq2.ini file to the EQ2 directory as instructed, however I obviously have been reverted back to default UI. What can I do to still use my custom UI as well as ultrabot? Can I just copy some lines from one ini to another?

Edit the eq2.ini file and put in the directory name where your UI is installed,

cl_ui_skinname CustomUI
cl_ui_subdir CustomUI/

Change CustomUI to the name of the UI you are using.

You just need to copy the 2 files from CustomUI in the zip to the folder where is your UI.
