Get a pearl every time from your Clefts treasure chest key : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

Ok, this is part Guide, and part Trick. by far the most useful trick I've found in a very long time. It's particularly useful for those that like to farm for loot.

Ok, for those not familiar with the clefts keys thing, it works like this....

There are serveral named in the clefts that drop keys, including the GateCaller, and the named in the War Room. The keys unlock treasures chests in the treasure room, just north of the war room. You need a special key to get into the treasure room (dropped by Coin Laborers, SE of map on second floor).

When you get a chest key you examine the key, and it gives you a quest to find the chest it fits (one of the many chests in the treasure room). The reward, as in all quests, is displayed then. Those that have gotten more than one key know, that *sometimes*, the reward will include a t6 rare pearl. More times than not, however, it will include a necklace, and some rough, and flawless nacre (not the harvested kind, not sure what this is used for actually).

I have discoved, though, that you can easily get a pearl every time you get a key! Just delete the quest, and re-examine the key, and continue to do so until the reward shows you a pearl!

The GateCaller in particular seems to be the best place to get a key. He re-spawns every 15 minutes, drops a key 25% of the time, and is easily soloable for lvls 55 and up. You can also pull the GateWaller from the first floor, easily avoiding the heroic aggros on the second floor. The best spot to pull him down the the first floor is just SW of where the named dog/wolf spawns. I use a long range attack to pull him.

I've gotten 7 pearls in the past 3 days, not to mention several plat work of Adepts and Armor and about a million pounds of whatever the nacre is for, lol.

Doesn't always work. I'm 1 for 10 on pearls. Even though I keep cycling till it says a pearl is a reward, the reward is always different in the end.

I had one say 3 nacres, a necklace and a pearl was the reward. I ended up getting 2 nacres and some coin on turn in


I just had another one say I was getting 1 Flawless and 1 Rough Pearl, I ended up getting 5 rough nacres .................

So worth moving to confirmed nikecmh?

I spent about 6 hours yesterday, trying to figure out if there was a pattern to be able to get a pearl always. I got keys from all the named mobs there by making laps around the 3 floors.

I ended up with 2 pearls after about 25 keys. If there was a set pattern to make it at least a 50% shot, id be happy. At the moment, its not working out to well. Maybe the OP can eleaborate a little more on how hes getting it almsot every time. As far as im concerned it seems 100% random.

I have try this, dont work. We have a random again when we open the chest.

Yup, just discovered that although you can delete the quest, and re-examine the pearl, when you open the chest, it's complete random,again. Although, it does seem that the first key of each type that you get results in a pearl.

I got a crapload of keys at first, but have been unlucky the last 10 keys I've gotten.

Is there a complete list of all of they keys that drop? so far, I've gotten 2, one for the gatecaller, and one from each of hte guys in the war room.

Does the oracle drop one? Are there more?

BTW, with a few modifications, this thread might better serve as a guilde than an exploit.

Donno if it is just My luck or not. (ie bad luck) But everytime the quest shows me to get a pearl. I NEVER DO.
