HELP PLZ : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

I cant get Everquest 2 to enter game. What it does do is loads launchpad... i enter my username and password and then it BEGINS to load the game....

Upon loading the game when it begins to enter the world with my character it immediatly crashed to desktop wihout any errors at all... I'm not sure why its doing this i have everything up-to-date and i just got this thing tonight..

If anyone has any ideas as to WHAT is happening please help me.

Other then that i have no other information....

Try hooking the everquest2.exe instead of the eq2.exe and see if that works.

If you do make and keep this change, remember this means that when there is an update you would have to load eq2.exe and d/l the updates then quit out and launch through xu.

I will try this eventually but atm im too damn nice and im power leveing my buddie lol he dont care if i get it working or not! I on the other hand am less frustrated atm and will get this to work i dont care what it takes.... lol

the DX9 issue still pisses me off because its not really specific as to what is wrong....

Ok so ive tried using the other executable file to hook and launch the game... worked flawless and loaded with the options. The only problem with this is that its not hooking to the correct files thus making the program useless... either that or the Toolbar just WONT WORK lol. I don't get the toolbar at all not matter what...


I have tried to load the client without hooking DX files and only hooking gamepad and it loads, but the toolbar still dosent work.... no matter what i do i guess i cant get a toolbar... I dont know if its my system or what but if needed here are my specs

AMD Athlon 64 3200+

SLi eVGA 7900 GTO x2

2 gigabytes Corsair XMS DDR 400

Gigabyte K8N-SLi-Pro

22" Gateway Widescreen 1680x1050 Resolution Yes im running at max res

I dont know if that will help but i HOPE it does lol!

hooking either EQ2.exe or everquest2.exe should work fine. I always use everquest2.exe, much quicker to swap between chars on diff accounts. Anyway .. at this point you are best deleting everything and starting again, there could by many different factors that are screwing up so best to start from beginning one step at a time.

Did a complete Re-Install of the program and tried it again. It didnt work again it gave me this:

I don't know exactly what is going wrong no matter what or where i try to run this is crashes while entering the world......

When I go to start the application i set my desktop resolution to:

1024x768x32 Dosen't work..... I reall need some serious help.

THose are warnings... ignore them. I get those too and it works fine.

As Wyvernx said, this is an error that I am sure everyone gets .. when you say it isn't working can you be more specific? Do you get anything up at all?

No, It dosent work properly. I start the application and then I press "Play" and it launches the game but then as soon as my character goes to load into the world I get crashed to desktop. I don't know why it does this but if someone could figure that out it would be nice i have posted the log and everything.

You said that when your hooking everquest2.exe it all loads fine just the scripts do not work. Correct?

Have you succesfully run the DX8 and DX9 tests?

What im saying is I CANT EVEN LOAD INTO THE WORLD FOR ANYTHING TO WORK.

If you can think of a way to make it so i can load into the world please do tell.

Edit: Yes i have done the directx 8 and 9 test successfully and still it wont allow me to load into the game. !!!

Try this.

Uncheck Force Redraw and Ignore Direct Input
Check Hook DX8.

Still dosent work, I think ive tried almost every variable combination of settings and I still cant get this program to work succesfully. I'm not sure what to do now, and dont think this will ever work for me But lief goes on if anyone else has had numerous CTD and fixed the problem please enlighten me and tell me how you had solved this problem.

Exact same thing here is happening.. EXACT same errors and no scripts will run, period. I too have tried every combo.
