Just bought program- searched forum, no answer to problem : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

I just bought the program yesterday and am trying to get it to work on the sample scripts with no luck. I have searched the forum but have not found any of the solutions to work for me. I am using the test alpha version (the latest one).

I am running at 1024x768 resolution. I am running EQ in windowed mode with the Windows box checked in options. (I have also tried running in full screen mode w/ no checked options and windowed mode with dialogue checked but no luck there either)

I do see the red dot in the corner, and when I mouseover the bottom of the screen I get the XU menu. I click on the ver 2.0 scripter and the script box pops up. When I move the persona window in back of the script box, I can select to run a script. I check the "Compatibility Box" and try and run the script. About 1 second later, text in the script box says "All scripts stopped" but the overlaid text higher up says something like "1 script running, press F12 to stop" At no time do I get any kind of an additional window after runing the script.

I have tried running with the compatilibty unchecked just for S+G - this causes the text "script running" to stay in the script box, but I do not see a status Window.

None of the sample scripts work - I can record a macro however.

Really appreciate any help that can be provided as this is extrmely frustrating =)

Update - I tried with the earlier version of the XU ver 3.995 and I can now run the sample scripts. The script-created window pops up and the scripts execute. Also, I can close the script selector window. I could not do this in ver 4.

I would still like to be able to run the latest version in case support is removed from 3.995 but the bug is definitely a regression in ver 4.0.

DONT check windowed boxes for EQ2.
