Problem with XU4 and 4.1 : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

Hmm, I get this error when having Auto-Update enabled or whenever I manuallu update the plugins from within XU. It seems to stop at the time when the EQ servicer is about to update. Attaching image.

I had this problem with XU 4 for 2 days and and its still there now when I upgraded to 4.1

Any thought why this is happening? I have tried uninstalling EQservicer and reinstalling to no avail. Same error occurs when trying to update it. :?

This morning I updated XU to 4.1 and it is going into a loop to auto update, ask to restart the client over and over.

Yeah, aheam, I forgot to mention that as well. After I click that box above, XU also tells me to restart. Every time, over and over.

I have just that. XunleashedTest.exe AND Xunleashed.exe in the same folder [main root folder of XU]. Did I get you right on that one, wyv?

Not sure what's going on... Try uninstalling and reinstalling the eq2 services plugin. That is the one that is patching right?

Check the log to see.

Already uninstalled/reinstalled the service a few times. Also a friend of mine just bought XU and he has exactly the same problem as well as do the folks in this thread:

Attaching my log, seems like there is some wrong pathing thingy going on at the bottom when the service should be loading. I havent moved my folders or messed around with anything.

Also noticed that the service has become very unstable again. I use the radar alot and it dissapears and reappears every five minutes or so. Just as it was before the XU4 came out but far worse, lol. Im guessing its just a glitch though! *happy thoughts happy thoughts*, *holding thumbs*.

Since the XUnleashed 4.1 March 22,2006 Service Patch, for some reason when XUnleashed is loading it doesn't properly update the status of EQ2Crafter Plugin. If I disable this plugin (uncheck the box) I can get the game to launch, but that's pointless for me since all I care about is crafting. I can get the status of the EQ2crafter Plugin to change from "Unknown" to "Ok" by highlighting it and clicking "Force Plugins and Services to Update" but I still get an error message that says "Please close this window, and restart the application."

Also, once in game I can't get the task bar to pop up once I've been able to load into the game minus the crafting plugin.

Edit: I also forgot to mention that I've uninstalled/reinstalled both the plugin and XUnleashed with no results.

From the log it seems like you need to uninstall the plugins (drag to uninstall line) and then do a full install of the plugin (from the.xui file).

As a shortcut method if you are lazy you can just uncheck the checkbox auto-update plugins.

ok so I still can't get 4.1 to work. Worked fine b4 patch and now I keep getting stuck in the updating loop. Is this being looked into? I have uninstalled/reinstalled the plug-ins and it still isn't getting passed the updating part. I can get it passed the updater if I uncheck the crafter plug in and wyverns service plug in. Also I can run 3.9 w/o the updating problem. Anyone know whats up?

I posted my issues on this thread re: LU21:

Hard to determine if the new XUnleashed client update or EQ2's Live Update 21 or some combination of the two are creating problems. Also, EQ2service may need an update? I'm a n00b so I can't say I know what's going on for certain.

Well I'm just using xu 3.9 atm it runs fine. I'm hoping that this issue is being looked into by the good people that govern this service. I'd suggest just using 3.9 for now b/c the 4.1 patcher isn't registering the updates if you keep the plug-ins checked and the patcher keeps wanting to update the services. 4.1 is useless without the plug-ins though and I tried unchecking them to start eq2 and rechecking them once eq2 was running but that didn't work either, oh well though atleast we got a back up.

Good deal.. EQ2 servers are down atm, so I'll try 3.9 as you suggested when they come back up. Which scripts are you running successfully?
