SUSPENDED - Harvest Bot : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

So last Saturday night I once again left my harvest bot going. When I woke up Sunday and checked and tried to login, I get the message "Your account has been suspended..."

Now, this post is not about whining. I fully understood and accept the risks in using this bot.

My question is: Does anyone know if I have been suspended for a period of time, ie 7-10 days or will my account be permanently banned? I have not received any emails about this.

Also, how will this affect other accounts in my name with same credit card details etc.

I was also suspended for tradeskill botting and given a 7-10 day suspension on another account (I received an email about this).

Anyone with experience in this?

If this is your second offense, there is definately an increased chance that it will be a ban. Otherwise, its usualy a 10 day suspension. They have been talking alot about bot crackdowns, however, so they may ban you oughtright. I would assume that any account connect to yours will be affected also- and (as in my case) even accounts not otherwise associated with yours, but connecting from the same IP address (brother and I were both connected to the same cable modem- he through the UBS port, I through the normal cat5 port- when I got suspended, he got bit too). Also, don't hold your breath waiting for any emails- live chat was the only response I got, and not much help there, either.

good luck...

for everyone else: let this be a lesson: NEVER AFK BOT!!! You wanna bot, fine, but be within earshot of your PC- had he been near enough to catch any tells, he might have avoided the suspension/ban. BTW, you didn't happen to have your log on, did you? might check there to see if there was any attempt to communicate with you in-game by a GM. If there was, your SOL. But, if not, I'd get on live chat and throw a hissy fit- claim innocence, demand that they prove or explain why they thought you were botting. Stay away from the boards, however (not these, the official SOE ones). The people lurking there always assume everyone other than them is a botting, exploiting, cheating mofo whos only joy in life is ruining the game for them, personaly. You'll get no sympathy there, no matter what you tell them (not speaking from experience, just observation).
