this is sorta cheezy but it works. this requires some thing heavy but small, i used my gerber plyers. here is what you do start swiming and hit the numblock key, then set object on left or right turn key and you will swim and swim and swim. it helps if you have water beath spell or totem so you don't drown. this auto swims and just leave it be, go to sleep ect... when you come back your swim skill will be max or atleast better depending on how long you wait. i usualy swim under the bridge in quenos harbor so i dont get caught. so pick a desolate or rarely visited area so you dont get caught.

in order to keep from drowning the fishbone earing works well

look ever so slightly at the sky as long as you swim you will swim "up" and keep your head above water
