Timer based quests : EverQuest 2 Premium Discussions

I was doing a quest last week. I'm not going to give the name, because I don't want it to be nerfed; but I need to kill a number of mobs in a number of minutes. Well I wasn't able to. So I camped out at that point.

When I returned, I wasn't paying attention, but about two minutes later I realized I had the full amount of time to finish the quest. There are similar steps within the same quest, but I haven't been able to duplicate this and I don't remember exactly what I did.

I don't know if I camped out fully or not, i.e. character select or desktop.
I don't know if I camped while the clock was running -- I don't think it was but I don't remember.

Has anyone run across a similar situation and were you able to duplicate it?
