beastmaster or Dragoon solo skill chains : FFXI General Discussions

has anyone been able to do any solo skill chains with either of these classes... when I first got my beastmaster I had about five exp skill chain #1 which translated to about 200+ xp.. but after level 5 I couldn't get any more...

I also manage to get a couple with my wyvern as a dragoon before I was lvl 3 but have been able to get anymore...

does anyone know of or have a macro to get a skill chain for these classes?

sorry you cant get any skill chains solo unless you use a +TP item like an icharus wing after your first SC.

now for exp chain its very possible. just takes tons of practice but thats not hard to get as a bst. much easier after you get leave at 35 so keep on truckin. ive gotten bst to 75 a few times allready and its fun/worthwhile

Samurai can skill chain by themself.

I think SMN can skill chain by themself. (Weapon skill, then SMN pet attack).

And I think you can skill chain with an NPC friend.

skill chain is not exp chain. i think the OP is confused.

Samurais can only skill chain by thereselves by useing thier 2hr.

And exp chains can only chain if you kill a EM, T, VT, or IT, but you can do chains and kill a DC or EP in between and wont be accounted for but the chain still continues.

Exaples:
EM -> 100 exp
T -> Chain 1 150 exp
EM-> Chain 2 140 exp
or
IT -> 200 exp
IT -> Chain 1 210 exp
DC -> 80 exp (In middle of chain)
IT -> Chain 2 230 exp

As a lvl 71 Dragoon, i solo on Colibris in Bhaflua(sp?) Thickets.. I use Sanction+ Refresh so I never have to rest...I can get EXP Chain # 4 if i'm lucky and they don't use their TP removal ability.
