Best way to make money with the new economy : FFXI General Discussions

I saw alot of guide how to make money during inflation but no good ones for the new economy. Does anyone have any good ways or making money. Also what craft is the best to level and make money off of.

well since the price of everything went down, the value of gil went up. meaning what sued to be an insigificant amount is now worth something.

the same tactics still work, but you just get less gil, but actually seeing lower number usually makes people ignore the actual value of those numbers.

as for crafting, they are all extremely profitable at higher levels, but the cost to get them that high making it a possibility is unnatainable without a solid plan to fund them. since you are asking for ways to make gil im assuming you dont have one quite yet.

but i recently started leveling fishing (very recently, skill 4), a fisher with level 100 skill dosent make as much as a crafter, but fishing is profitable the whole way to 100, whereas 99% of the time, youre taking a loss while crafting.
id say once fishing is at a decent level, you can fish up money to support another craft, since both fishing and 1 other craft can be at 100.
(the only competition in fishing is the fish themselves, farming depends on being the only one doing it at the time)

i find that NM camping is a huge waste of time. ive been playing for almost 4 years, and i have NEVER gotten a nm drop. i spent 3 months circling that stupid rock in gustaburt camping LL, 7 days a week, 9-10 hours a day and i never got the boots. i actually felt some of my life slip away

Do you use a fishing bot?

no i cant get XUnleashed to work, i think its a vidcard problem. the other fishbot im considering using but it dosent change bait anymore i hear. so what ive done so far is grab the halycon rod, fishermans gear, and go to the AH in al zahabi (im new to ToAU, sold my account and made a return after 2 years) theres a small storage of water there, use little worms to fish up crayfish and moatcarps. skillup with fishing is always very slow, so dont get discouraged. windy is also an option, but AZ is better

im lvl 16 fishing so what should i fish also im lvl 93 alch but cant seem to find a way to make money off of it anymore

hmm. theres a 0-100 fishing guide in the guides section, right now im only level 4. ive been to 21 on my other account, but ive forgotten how.

but the only way to make good money at that level is AH'ing moat carps, and anyone whos serious about fishing saves those for lu shang unless there gonna just buy the rod

any other suggestions to making good money besides fishing?

check allakhazam for the guardian crawler, if your have a job around 60 or so its a good way to make money easily

is it a NM?

This method was nerfed a while ago, you can only trade 1 rolanberry to quest npc per real life day

is the fishing bot worth getting?

i dunno about XUfish because i cant get Xunleashed to work. XIfish is very good, based on the discussion thread, aobut a month ago an update broke the bait/rod changing functions. so if you use bait, you have to manually change bait every 12 casts, or use a lure

the inability to stop it from fishing monsters + not fighting makes it only suitable in cities

i believe its a work in progress, but since i cant use XUfisher its as good as its gonna get for me right now

gotcha i wonder if i can get Xufish to work. Also is tele taxi a good way to make money?
