Fast cash! : FFXI General Discussions

I'm always a fan of the get rich quick schemes. This is the first one I've done that has actually worked.

What you need:
  1. A second caracter, this must be a brand new character, not a mule. Or if you use your mule, you must empty its inventory, mog house, etc. I actually just paid the extra $1 to make a new one.
  2. About 5k to invest, varies by server, I don't remember how much it cost me, but it was cheap.
The method:

Create a new character in bastok. Do the adventurer coupon quest and get your 50 gil.

Go to bastok markets and find Nbu Latteh at (J-9) she's standing next to the bridge.

Basically what you will be doing is repeating this quest over and over again until you get rank 2 fame. The details of the quest are here: Register to unlock hidden link She wants you to craft a copper ring, but don't. Just keep the fire crystal and go to the jewelry store in Bastok Markets, you can buy a ring there for cheap.

The reward for the quest is 200g each time if you don't read the letter in your key items. You have to zone each time you complete it to get offered again.

It took me about 5 times repeating (I did a few other quests too) to get to rank 2 fame. You'll know you've got rank 2 fame because she will offer you a different quest.

Now you'll probally need to send some cash from your main character for the next part.

Go to the auction house, buy a vial of slime oil. Most people farm it in Korokolla tunnel, so it's usually in stock.

Now you want to go to the metalworks and talk to Unlucky Rat, he's a galka in the Cermet Refinery downstairs. He needs a vial of slime oil. Give it to him and you'll get a scroll of warp.

This scroll goes currently for 40-45k on fairy server. Took me in all about an hour to do. And I also came out with half a stack of fire crystals.

Here's a few other easy bastok quests to do if doing one over and over gets you bored:

Are u sure that all it took 2 hrs. Also 40k for warp is a little high.

The are allot of others ways to make gil. Also i am sure that the warp quest is not repeatable. Also with this same idea I would force lvl fame on windy with a friend to get Norg fame and then get the pass to kazhamm and get the 2 nin scrolls a little more time to invest but you would get about 500k depending on server.

It only took one hour, I actually did it a few nights ago.

You are correct that the warp quest isn't repeatable. I forgot to add that part above, the reason you need to clear your mule of everything is because when you are done, you delete your mule, make it again, and then you can do the quest a second time.

Sure there are other ways to get money, I was just pointing out one that I've used, and it's something that even a level 1 character could do.

The ninja scroll quests do get you a lot of money but I would put them nowhere near anything I'd ever want to repeat. Not only do you have to spend a lot of money to get norg fame, but then you'd have to get all the chest keys, PLUS actually go through sea serpent grotto (I'd like to see a level 1 do that.)

All in all for your 500k from the ninja scrolls I'd say a new character would take about 40 or so hours. Including getting the required fame, levelling a character to 25 (for sneak and invis), and getting the chest keys. So 500k in 40 hours is about 12.5k per hour. You could have nearly triple that doing warp scroll over and over again.

Both methods sound too boring regardless of how much they'd bring, but, just wanted to point out, while the Utsusemi quest might take awhile, you don't need to level your character at all, just use Silent Oil and Prism Powder. I'd say there's much easier and less boring ways to make 40k/hour anyhow.

40k/per hour

Teleporting will do this easily now.

If its slow you might make 20k.

This is one of the oldest get rich quick schemes there is, it is alot of effort and you cant do anything else. I suggest leveling fishing or getting a job to a lvl where you can farm cuttings and such. theere are many ways to make good money that dont involve creating a character doing warp, deleting character making another etc...

If you want to make money this way, just so you know, ur basically buying gil. $1 per 40k + you have to spend an hour. Honestly, im not a big fan of gil buying, but just go purchase urself like 1m, and invest it in a real way of making money. Ok, so u spend an extra $10, but ur savin uself like.. 20+hours. I'm sure you make more than 50 cents an hour.

Buy gil? Why support the ones the messed the economy up. If anything boycott them all or better yet stop playing until SE fixes the issues.

I am sorry but people that buy gil really hurt the economy. They'll pay more for everything since they didnt work for it. Hurting everyone.

Lets say they do invest and get a decent craft. They Plvled their craft meaning they problaly will lower their craft prices too since they didnt work for it. Hurting everyone along the way while helping the ones that are causing the problems.

Also why pay fro something that you can get for free with just a little work. Have some pride and work for what you have.

Honestly, I'd rather buy gil than do quests or teleports since you most likelly can't automate it well (without a lot of work).
Granted, I don't need to buy gil! hrrhrrr

Anyway, take up fishing and catch black soles or something while watching TV. It's really way better than this.

This ploy is typically used by people who havent had a taste of living in Vanadiel at high lvls. If you are lvl 75... the idea of spending 2 hrs to make 40-50k is humorus at best.

Any input would be apprecaited since you seem to have better ways of making gil. Please any trade secrets of a LVl 75 would be welcome here.

Also of course at higher lvls gil making techniques change. I dont know about you but I started at LVl 1 and took a while to get High curently in the low 60's any advice would help and be appreciated.

as for what kitty red said about not needing to lvl your char at all i think you still need lvl 25 to do kazam keys quest. Not entirly sure cause it was a long !@#$%^* time ago i did it but i think thats how it goes. Also i did the quest with my 30rdm and i wondered around blindley down in the grottoh for a good 2 hours. so sure if you get a HL whm or rdm to cart your !@#$%^* around and if you can go to kazam at lvl 1 go for it
