High Levels hoarding NMs. Give everyone else their shot! : FFXI General Discussions

I move through South Gust alot, concitering my home nations is Bastok and I always see atleast three characters that are full artifact armor or way above the level of the area in a certain spot. Normally one would dismiss this as characters just desiding to walk, or maybe harvest material for a craft... but that is not the case. Those characters are not just passing through or harvesting for a craft... they are camping for "Leaping Lizzy", which spawns the footgear "Leaping Boots". I am sure I need not go into the value of this item in the AH, for that would just be insulting. My point is, these people just sit there for HOURS doing nothing but waiting for that god forsaken lizard, while pretty much killing everything in sight. This can be a real hassle on two fronts.

a) With South Gust being Bastok's "Noob area", there are alot of low level characters trying to train and the area around where Lizzy spawns is where most characters around 5-7 come to do training. When you have these high levelers killing everything around to make that lizard spawn sooner, that puts a major crimp in training.

and...

b) I know that some classes/crafts require alot of money, but why do you have to farm that single creature. Why not get a group of your buddies together and do BCNMs? That drop stuff that sells for alot more then leaping boots...

I already know I'll get flamed for this, but I know there are others that are sick and tired of it. So I just desided to make my thoughts and other players thought known as well.

Lol, camping the boots and then pin for money is never ever gunna stop unless they make these two items ex. It's pretty much pointless to complain about it, seeing how SE is never going to change it.

If people stopped pushing the price of those boots so high, it wouldn't be an issue *laughs* But a potential 1 million gil payoff is too big for people to ignore. So the only way you're going to fix the problem is to somehow drop the price of Leaping Boots to a couple of thousand gil ^.~
