Midgardsormr Backplates (for the farmers) : FFXI General Discussions

i noticed this recently...

when i was lvling a rdm on amethyst/amber/young quadavs in S. gusty... i was getting quite a few backplates
i heard these were really good profit (600 gill each in bastok, 700 gill in sandy) and so i just went along with it
well...
i was in the AH in bastok and i saw that my backplate INSTANTLY sold.. i then saw somebody fail a synth and they lost backplates
i asked him what he was making and then he said darksteel ingots
i asked oh cool can i make hose and he said no, i would craft bronze outta it, but as you go higher you can squeez iron ingots and later D.Steel
well, out of curiosity i checked the AH... darksteel ingots sold ofr ALOT! (couldn remember, i think above 6.5k..probably more...) iron sold for alot too, around 2.5k...(these are SINGLE ingot prices)
...hmmm...

i started thinking that the low level n00bs were being scammed cause to them 600 gill is ALOT... and they didnt know better...they didnt know that the people that crafted these made ALOT of profit....
i then started thiknking that i could raise the price from 600-700....
it sold
700-800
sold all three
800-900
selling, but a little slower
900-1000
it sold, but slower still


...hmmm, catching me?

so im asking the people of midgardsormr:
lets raise the price of the backplates from 600-700 to 800-900
i still am skeptical about this cause i dont know how MANY QBP's you need to craft the ingots...
if its 3...then we all win, iron still gets a profit, and more if stold in stacks, DS ingots get a great profit still...
so, post your opinion and im going to make this a poll i guess...
