Non US Expansions on the Us version : FFXI General Discussions

I play on the US servers but im not from America, can I go and buy European versions and install them because I don't fancy waiting ages to import them, or download US versions of the Expansions and just use the CD keys I get when I go and buy it?

isnt FFXI international? whick means regions doesnt matter?

what expansions do you mean, there is only 3? i live in sweden and all of them are available at EBGames, Game etc...

Anyone who has been playing since before around 5 months ago (when ToAU was released) needed to go buy it separately.

All I want to know is if i bought a EU version of an expansion it's work with the US version, I read it didn't matter but want to make sure.

This is an old subject and the latest post is pretty old but figured I'd post anyways. You can not install an US expansion on an EU game nor the other way around. You can play using an US POL-account on an EU game though but you'll be unable to do changes to your payment information etc. due to the different regions having different systems at root. If you do try to install using an US expansion on an EU game it will just give an error and refuse to continue.

for installation, the game needs to match version. eu expansion wont install on us ffxi.

for content id and account management u need pol that match version u register with. register with us, u need us pol

for logging in 'n play, u can do that on any version.
