Private Server? : FFXI General Discussions

I re registered and paid in hopes of this private server thing that was posted on this site.

Care to explain?

it has been on that since the beginning of the site as it says for any section. its there for google which TA has said before so i wont mind to repeat it. a ffxi server is still a long time from being completed. look into PXI if you want to follow the development of one.

I know its a long while before it gets released if ever. I just was suprized to see it and got all excited and whatnot. And I have been watching the progress of that project for a long time now.

i was watching it long ago but gave up when i stopped playing ffxi. i would come back to play on a private server if it was to get rid of the nerfs they gave a bst. also i would love to make beastmen charmable and give the game a whole new twist.

Well they have made alot of progress over the past couple of months. So I am still optimistic. ^^

This isn't going to come out till 2010, if anyone actually read what they've been able to do so far and what they're actually planning. So far they can't get any 2 PCs to even slightly interact with each other, there are slim to no NPCs, no monster, zoning doesn't work except through command, no moogles in MH, Job changing doesn't work, you can't do ANYTHING except walk around in a highly glitchy environment.

The ONLY way FFXI is going to get a private server in my opinion is if SE stops laughing at the developers of sourceforge and feels so bad for them that they end up just giving them legal rights to run an FFXI private server. And since that's pretty much not going to happen within the next billion years, this won't be coming out for a LONG time. And even then, it'll be so glitchy and horrifying, that it'll drive people away from it completely...
