Problems updating FFXI : FFXI General Discussions

I just got this and i am getting a problem after i install the game, i go to update once clicking on FFXI, it starts to download the files for the last update, its gets anywere between 20-35% complete and then gets an error:

Error POL-0250


something about there are conection problems to the update server or problems with my network, does anyone have any idea what this is and how it can be sorted?

anyone? i stll cant get it working. Got up to aboy 57% today and stopped

well there are a few questions i have to ask u first b4 i can tell you whats wrong
1. are you on pc or ps2
2.are u on dial up or high speed

PC version and cable modem at about 700kb/sec

well, i'd prefer cable if you were going to play it on your PC, because on dial-up it is slow, but supposedly they are even, but dont believe it. I have it for PS 2, the graphics are alright, but not as good as PC, i've played it at my friends before. and it costs like 100 dollars more for PS 2 if you want to play at maximum level. But, for your problem, do you have a virus or something on your computer? what internet speed are you running atm?

700kb/sec as i posted above, no i dont have a virus that wouldnt stop me updating a game even if i did. I cant seem to get any help from anywhere.

well, maybe it is the disc, does it have any scratches on it? or any other markings that could possibly cause it from DL'ing

no you dont have to have the disk in to play it, and youdont need it in to upload either. sorry buts thats just commen sense, do you know anything about computers?
since when does an update download itself to the game disk -_-

im sorry... i thought you meant installing the game, im sooo computer stupid, my bad bro
