question about fishing : FFXI General Discussions

i always wondered when trying to lvl fishing if wearing +1 clothes lvl u slower and what i mean is this...

say u are lvl 30, and the fish u are catching is lvl 39-41...as far as..thats the last lvls those fish can give u skill ups...so i was thinking if u are lvl 34 fishing catching those same fish with body/feet/legs/gloves+1 fishing..puts u at a 38...thats where i have the question..would u be recognized as a 38 even tho it doesn't show it...but for some reason i always lvl a lot slower when i am closer to the cap..when it comes to fishing....i'm sure there's a question in there somewhere...sorry for no ???

clothes do not affect your ability for skillups. if a fish caps at 44 and your 40 with +4 clothes you will keep leveling to 44 base skill but 48 skill with clothes. all the skillups are decided on your base skill not on your total skill
