raising fame : FFXI General Discussions

anyone know what quests to do in what town, that raise fame quickly and cheaply? started new char. as blm and forgot that alot of spells are quested. i'm trying to get away from running around getting 20 quests doing them all.... then running around town looking for more.//
i am looking for something besides the selbina sheep guy that one takes forever

what is it you tryin to get because there all kinds of quest you can do for items.

I can't help you much there, but in San D, there r two things. One, the world famous lu shang's quest. and two, in north san D when you enter the guild area, there is a guy that will accept bat wings for gil...great fame farmer there. Finally, there is one for jeuno in Selbina..i can;t remember the name of that qest :/ but u can prolly look it up. Besides that, if you have windy fame you need, im pretty sure the yag necklace quest gives you fame there, not sure though cause thats how you farm Norg fame. Hope this helped gl.

If you can you can do the moss quest in selbina, on my server you lose no gil, in the past you even earned gil doing it.
It's how I've raised fame on my crafting mules and there are several scripts available for it.

At low LV, getting the fame you need might be a problem, not impossible. I have a friend when FFXI first came out all he did was fishing and trade the sardine, bought them and trade them. HE said he made millions, but that was long ago and that will take forever.

When you LV you will most likely items get you gil through items that you get in parties mostly with crystalls. Once you are at a decent lv, you can go to those low lv areas and farm things like wild onions or yagudo necklaces. Just concentrate on spell you know you will need for now, then the rest will come easy, once you at 40 BCNM time is a good money maker.

Fame for Windy -- Bastord sardines. Takes a while but if you have a fried that can help best would be blm/brd or a blm and a rdm. just trade then they warp you you. to the Hp by the dock then u can keep it going till u max fame out. took me about 7 hours to maexd mine as rdm at 41.
Fame for Sandy-- the onion for out post but drop is a bit rare or you cando the bat wings. but if u have some money i would do the Boyada moss in selbina.
Fame for -- Bastok. I rarely go there. So i odnt know for sure but i think there is one that you do for a mom and daugther. but again 15 stacks of Moss will give you a decent fame for them. now they back to 600 each - good time to get it done. cause you will get them money back.
