I have been wanting to make a ranger for a while now, but ppl playing the game keep telling me different things about them and whats the best sub. Right now i play a Galaka Pld/War. But i am getting a lil tired of always being the damage dealer, i mean its ok but i would like to deal some damage also. I dont have problems with money so I can afford to play a Rng. But i was wondering What all of u think is better and the ups and downs of both? Thanks everyone for the help. Also i find ppl on here know alot more about what they are talking about then most ppl in the game. I have a premium Account if you know a link that will answer my ?.

I am Raising a Mithra for this job now and she is curently a lv 18 War.

I just got my RNG job and the stories of being a RNG are right. They cost a butt loads of gil. But the dmg they dish out is insane. I was taking on EM's and T's and tearing them apart.

RNG/WAR is supposed to be the best dmg dealer.

RNG/NIN will be the craziest job combo since it will require so much gil, but i think having two daggers would be sick.

What most ppl tell me is that the RNG job is just used to hunt NM's, i will probably use it for that and go with a SAM full-time.

In 1 hour i went through 1800 in gil. Got 5 lvls though

You really cant forget about the Ranged Attack + Axe Rangers get. Also, the accuracy is always needed, especially with bullets.

I am a galka ranger lol, loving every minute of it. Lvl 33 for the current time. Yeah it costs a lotta money, but the damage is worth it. Being a Galka has not slowed me down at all accuracy wise. It is all a matter of equipment, and how much money your going to spend on it. Equipment definetely makes the ranger..

So what are your main agility and accuracy equipment items that you pick. For me as a lvl 14 all i have is the "Hunters Bow" and "Rangers Necklace" I really want leaping boots, but I need to hunt for them. Once i get lvl 16 i am gonna buy some "Bone Rings" and go to K. Tunnel and solo lvl. Any help is appreciated.

Rng/Nin does sidewinder for 500-700 dmg

Rng/War does it for over 1000

Well I now made it to lvl 32 and Barrage is the sickest Job Ability ever. As of right now I am going RNG/NIN, because in 1 hand i use an "Archers Dagger" +10 Ranged Accy, the other hand "Striders Sword" 19dmg +3 Agility. I like the combo because 1) I can't find another Archers Dagger, 2) I like that +3 Agility. I am probably going to go SAM/RNG later because I want to be a 1 man skill chainer. And I don't have the millions of gil i am gonna need to support Ranger full-time.

It does amount to the equipment!!!
