SE cracking down on fish bots? : FFXI General Discussions

In addition to our actions against third-party tools and RMT-related offenses, we have implemented measures to counteract the recent occurrence of automated fishing. Our vigilant GMs, along with programming changes made by the development team, will continue to uphold the policy of fair play within the world of FINAL FANTASY XI.

Anyone news on exactly what they did?

I read the other thread about bannings and it seems most of the people got banned for NM/Speed related hacks. Nothing about fishing bots...

I would say just don't use the auto kill feature to often.

Haha, I'm with you on that. I'll wait for a: "OMG I my suspension just got lifted and now I'm Permabanned!" just to be safe.

That's what I was thinking. I figured they added something to detect autokilling. That is the only thing I could think of that would be "detectable" because the rest of fishing is just... fishing. They can't really detect if your afk unless they pop off the GM question thing, which isn't anything new.
