Stolen Items : FFXI General Discussions

Well I wasnt going to post this but I hpe one of them sorry is reading this. About few months back I planed on gettin me a Scorpion Harness For BST and for Ninja , RDM when I'm going to solo some things in the game. Well this is what Happend.
after 5 months of hardlabor , long hours of helping, donations, farming with RDM, and while lving BST. I finally made enough to buy e one. Felt good t have it. But having 5 gil left was a bummer.
I had for about 3 weeks I think then about 1 1/2 month from now, some player -- Not gonna mention the name, begged me to let him (playing Mithra to use it for ballista. after a few min thinking about it I was like well a ballista, OK.
well this was the last time I saw NY scorpion Harness. Apperently After 2 weeks, I could never find him online till I finnaly got him and asked him about my Harness. " He said he has it" then he went off I couldnt find him. after that. Next day I saw him and asked him again, The person said this is the wrong person I traded my account for this one with him go talk to this guy at that account. . Weel the guy who originally bought thae account, said that he bouth it the same day I gave that guy the Harness, he thought it was his, he sold it so he could by gears for the account he was going to trade it for. I asked hi he said he will give it back, but first had to sell everything he used the money for. Well i was ok will lv thf in the mean time. Well 1 week later the account again got switch to someone else and sold to someone else. Got frustrated and call GM. Now they said they were looking into it, Still no responce from them, so My thing is. Should I put another call for GM to ask whuz up or what? cause i cant put ninja up any longer.

Can you give me 1000000 gils?

can you openly agree to trade me your next harness? no items where stolen you agreed to trade, aka give it to him, but really can I "borrow" your next one or a vermillion cloak?

or youcould bug a gm about it and have then laugh at you.

Jesus H. How gullable can you be? I seriously think that you subconsciously didn't want that harness. That's the only thing I can think, that would make you that naive.

I wouldn't let anyone I don't know in real life borrow anything I couldn't afford to loose, i.e. anything over 1 mil gil. Anything over 50k I'd have to trust them in the extreme, if I didn't get to hold something of equal value.

P.S. Not to bag on you but you need to preread your posts before or read them after and edit them. I couldn't understand a third of what your were saying.

I'm sorry to be the one to break this 2 ya buddy but, the same guy prolly still owns the account. I got scammed really bad once in another game and w/e they say like they got hacked or summin its BS. It's the same dude who stole it, they never have any intetnion of giving it back and a GM can do nothing about it unless the dude (who would have to b a total idiot to do this) openly told the GM that he stole it. Btw, the GM u had asked about it prolly was on the case for like 10 min then moved on. Think about how many times GMs get calls like this. Most of them are just to get personal gain of summin they never had.

People have been on the bad end of far more evil scams and have never gotten any kind of reimbursement.

For instance, the bonecrafters on my server (like many other servers) offer to make Scorp Harnesses for people when they get a V. Claw. You trade them a VC, and they either give you a SH or synth one on the spot for a fee. The idea is that by trading you a SH for a VC strait up, eventually they will make a SH+1 for themself. Anyway, one person in particular is notorious on my server for a scam related to this. Any time he/she synths a Scorp Harness +1, he/she immediately logs off and doesn't even give the person a regular Scorp Harness. Yet, a few days later she/he is back online and will never answer tells/threats/whatever.

GMs won't do anything about this scam. Why? Because YOU traded willingly to HIM/HER. No one forced you. No one put a gun to your head. You traded, end of story. If a GM won't do anything about a scam that horrid, I doubt they will do anything for you. BTW, that person probably did NOT sell his account. It's probably still him.

On a side note, it's amazing to me how anyone who does something shady in FFXI seems to magicly sell his/her account shortly after to someone that plays/talks/is exactly the same.

Final Note: NEVER trade anything you are not willing to part with. You don't want to risk loosing 50k? Don't loan 50k. You don't want to loose your SH? Don't loan it out. It's a hard lesson to learn. Just be glad you didn't have to learn this lesson on something more valuable like a Kraken Club or Kirin's Osode.

You guys are right but wasnt expect this from someone that you started the game with. We been Noob together, kind of grow in the game together. Well Like you said my lost but - he said he can track it from the first trade and on. Besides I have the 4 other guys that knew when I traded it, Cause we all use to farm together. O Well, Nice to know things about people. but yeah, I'm gonna keep at it and let you guys know what the result it. If they can pull items lost during deleted account they should find trace on the trade. Well thanks anyways. One thing though - I'm going to make him wish he never mess with me.

OK This is how I got it Back -

One day I saw this Guy who stole it on again and start talking to him, Said he didnt even know me, I told him to check his Flist and tell me how I get on it with his !@#$%^*. After that he got into 3 LS and I was in all of them. So i told them I dont want to be in anything associate with people stealing others people stuffs, If he's going to be in there I'm off. I think they like me better then a THF cause they all droppes him (RDM/DRK) power. Well then he send me a tell that he is not the original how did i get all his thing crack like that. I told hum I own sacks for each of the Ls he was on, but it not up to me to kick u out of LS it has to be the lead decision not mine. Then he told me that the harness he got on is from a friend that got him both the account and the items. I told him better start new, cause half of this server knows that you stole from me. If u want to keep playing might as well start all new character. He gave me another name of someone who had the accout from him. So i sent a tell to him. ( the big this is that everyone involved in this are on my Flist). I send him a tell and gave me 2 other names. Now this is how I got it back. First thing thay were messing with the wrong kind of people and i told them they would pay but it's ok they didnt listen. SO 5 people use that account. None knows exactly what happend to it ((( Let's call then Tr . Ph , AL , Dz, Cl))). Tr gave me a gang lod of things to make enough to buy it back. around 2 mil worth. not bad but now that is 6.2 mil that's no were close to it. So Cl and Ph traded account. and Ph with send me a tell about someone stole his account talking about Cl. I told him to call SE and get it back, they hacked my sis b4 all they told her to do was to change the password. he did and got it back. but the thing is Cl sent him the Harness that he got from Tr and Tr always asked me to farm so I know he had no money, and the other told me he had the account the day Dz quit. Ph send me a tell saying thanks for helping him get his account back. and Cl sent me a tell that Ph took account back wwith all his items after traded with him. Now Tr quit the game, gave account to Cl. so now Cl told me he got no money and no items. Ph send me a tell that someone send him a Scorpion Harness and the name is the mule from the same guy who stole my SC to start with so i told him it might be mine. After a few min of talking . he said he was going to sell it cause they stole 3 mil from him cause they took items (cursed items he was keeping worth about 3 mil). well from the 2 mil i got from Tr and my wing sword i got up to 2.9 mil. I had that pld gold armor junk put them ( 3 peaces ) for sale at about 200 each and they never sold. So i told him this is what we do - I get you your 3 mil back and u give me my Harness back. I gave him 2.6 mil + the 3 peace gear and he gave me harness. Didnt cost anything from my pocket so Except for a wing sword. But what the heck a wing sword or a harness ... U chose. Nor Cl is bugging me that it's his harness if I can give it back. I called my friend he's in Hawaii in school told him fool i got you harness back he said screw it not gonna play for a while keep it for now. if I dont get on it's a gift from me, he got it for 1.6 mil a while back. 1.6 to 6.8 mil WTH is this game going to. .... Well this is hor i got it back.
