This Noob dont know Sh*& about Bots and scripts : FFXI General Discussions

Well i was looking around for some info about " Whats the Diff
of Macros, Scripts, and bot. I know what a macro is. Its something you put in your macro slots to activaly a change of events..... Like

Line #1 /ma "Warp" <me>
line #2 /wait 3
line #3 /wave <t>

Ok so thats a macro......
Now for a script thats what tells programs how to do thing......
So a bot is a program that does what the script tells it.....

Well what i'm trying to get to is that i have read alot of thing on how to work these thing. I will tell you a few things that i have done so that no one will think that i just trying to get ez info or being babish....

1) I read The "[GUIDE] How to get XUnleashed to work with FFXI"
2) I then read everyting about the program that i wanted to use.
Like "FFXI Bots: XUFish 3.7.2 by Asl18fs (world famous script)" by asl18fs. I also read his "READ THIS BEFORE ASKING ANY QUESTIONS!!!! "

3) ok thin i set up all the macros like he said. Then i was like ok read more....... thin he said i sould give this info if i was ever going to do a help blog.


1) Operating system and patch level. ------- Window ex pro
2) Processor type. Did you set cpu affinity? ------- AMD 64 3200 1.gz
3) If you have antivirus software intalled and what kind.----- yes but its off
4) Version number on the FFXIService. ----- 2.0v
5) Version number on XUFish.----- xufish_rel_v_3_7_2.rar
6) Supply a copy of the code YOU have changed, no matter how trivial.---C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\launcher
7) Supply a copy of XUnleashedLog.txt, attach the txt file to the post.
Supply a copy of xufish_logfile.txt, attach the txt file to the post.
9) Step to reproduce the error, make them as detailed as possible!!!
Steps six though eight are all info i have already given.

4)read everrthing in his page and still have not been able to make it work.

I cant get step Press Ctrl+Ins+3 in FFXI then select fisher_basic.vbs and click Run. (might be other number if you have custom plugins installed) to work. How the hell i'm i going to open "fisher_basic.vbs"
to open when its a vbs???? Also can you send me a script program that works with Xunleashed.Thank you that will help this noob out alot. Also
can you send me msg plz its ezer to find my way though this mess of info.

Also yes i seen some of the stuff you guy have done to people that doesnt know alot about these types of thing but i know some. So please dont bash me too much.

you can view the contents of a vbs file by opening it with a text file viewer, like notepad, wordpad, textpad, msft word, etc.

i think your problem is that XU is not hooking to pol.exe properly. XU is designed to run vbs files, which are scripts. the XU client runs the vbs scripts to turn your character into a bot, so you cannot make a bot until you make XU work properly. keep trying, and do what people asked of you:

1) first, consult with this recent thread to see appropriate settings

follow the advice that other people give

2) enable the "display logo" option. click play. when POL starts FFXI, look in the upper-left corner. if "XUnleashed" appears in yellow text, then the client hooked to the game

3) there is not always a menu on the lower part of the screen. the only reliable way to make the menu appear is to move the mouse to the bottom edge of the FFXI screen. if XU is hooked properly to FFXI, then the menu should "pop up." the keystroke method is extremely unreliable in ffxi (do not use it).

Thanks Everymush........ I got the Unleashed to get it tool bar at the bottem of ffxi. Soooo that makes me happy thanks alot. Can you tell me one more little thing about the Unleashed tool bar..... how do i step by step the bot form ffxi screan with Unleashed tool bar......
