but it absolutly is terrible help in my opinion. The answers are there but I have no idea what to do and have spent the last 4 hours trying.

I lost my ffxi disks and I need to transfer it from my desktop to my laptop but I can't transfer it properly. I get FFXI is not installed when I try to boot it from playonline. And when I tried to fix the registry keys i got Class error can't run.

Can someone PLEASE tell me a step by step process of how to transfer ffxi from pc to pc. Honestly this is just plain ridiculous Squareenix makes you do this.

I can actually help you with this:

Go to the FFXI compendium in the FFXI Discussion section. Inside there you'll find a link to a page on Tault that has something to do with "Install FFXI in 15 minutes!"

Basically, it'll do exactly what you want.

It'll take the full FFXI folders that you have downloaded somewhere on your HDD, and then the program will take it and basically "install" it to where you want to.

Odds are you'll still have to update it, but that's worth it if you don't have the disk...

If that still doesn't work, my suggestion is Bittorrent FFXI :\
