ya you need registration codes to have account and the only way to get those is to get the game. just get the collection for $20. The only reason downloading would be good for is to switch platform to PC from a system or you lost your discs, but other then that its worthless.. seeing as how there is no private servers for FFXI outthere anyways.

Demonoid requires an account and getting one is kinda hard as they rarely open open account registration. you can also try thepiratebay.org for torrents.
